  1. I heard this on WGR today, but I haven't checked to see if it's so, but they said either that Myers hasn't been a minus player since Feb. 14th or on the ice for an even strength goal against since Feb. 14th. I'm pretty sure they said the latter. If that is correct, that's a pretty impressive stat, IMO.
  2. This would be my argument, both Chara and Pronger were probably worse in their first 3 years than what Myers has been so far. The size that all three posses can make them dominant Defensive players. It's nice to have a point getting D-man, but I think having a shut down player on Defense is more important.
  3. They paid him over $26 Million last season where he didn't take a single snap and he was due a $28 Million roster bonus to go along with his $7.4 Million salary for this season, where he might still not play. The Colts would of been fools to keep him, especially since they'll have Andrew Luck on the team starting this year. If loyalty comes into question, then Payton should of shown some to the Colts and renegotiated his contract. Manning already said no to the Redskins, my front runner has been the Broncos whom Manning will visit tonight. Two reason why I think he might choose the Broncos are John Elway and they are $50 million under the cap, so they can give him a nice fat salary. Also Houston might be in the running (IMO), Manning would be able to face the Colts 2 times a year if he played for Houston, he might like that. The Dolphins could be a possibility, especially if Reggie Wayne signs with them, I don't think the Jets have a shot in Hell, I don't see Payton Manning playing for Fat Rex. I don't thing Manning will have anything to do with the AFC East, bad weather late season games and taking the chance of being shown up by Tom Brady twice a year is probably not very attractive to him. Although playing the Bills twice a year might prolong his career, since he'd never get hit. Don't get me wrong, I am the Biggest Bills fan, but they really need to get a pass rush going this year.
  4. Yahoo stats credited him with 4 hits, WGR this morning said he had 5. The fans voted him the games #1 star on their Mike's Hard Lemonade fan voting page. I hope Kassian does good and has a great career (he'll do better void Lindy), but I'm very happy with what Hodgson has showed so far.
  5. I couldn't disagree more, there's been no one on the team that has been gaining the zone as good as Ennis has lately and as far as his net presence, look at his stats for the last 10 games.
  6. The one thing I noticed is that many of them are willing to be patient with him. He had a nice scoring opportunity last night after stealing the puck, he led a nice give and go, but failed to get the puck up over the Goalie. I think he'll do better out in Vancouver than he would of done here under Lindy. Anyway I wish him luck.
  7. That would make too much sense and Lindy will not be having things that make sense on his team.
  8. Well it looks like Ennis Center is now Ennis the Left Wing, This make absolutely no sense to me. Ennis seemed to be part of the solution of our problem at Center, but I guess not. Trading for Hodgson, a Center, has now left us 1 Center less then we had before the trade, go figure. I'm going to start putting money aside to get a billboard begging Pegula to get rid of Lindy. j/k
  9. Why would you want to remove a player that has shown he can play the Center position and has played it well on a team that has a weakness at Center ? We picked up a Center in Hodgson, but also lost one in Goose. Finding out that Ennis can play the position, and well, (3 goals, 4 primary assist in last 10 games) helped with our problem, removing him makes no sense to me. I'm not thrilled with the idea of seeing Leino or Boyes moved back to the Center spot. Maybe Sulzar can play Center ?
  10. This is the line up I would like to see for the top 3 lines. Vanek - Ennis - Pominville Leino - Hodgson - Stafford Gerbe - Roy - Kaleta 1) Ennis is turning into a very good play making Center who see's the ice good and is one of the better passers on the team, seeing him feed Vanek and Pommers could be really nice. 2) Hodgson seems to have a great shot and Leino's strength has appeared to be setting up plays from behind the net and the along the boards, having a sniper to get it to could increase Leino's production. 3) Roy without a doubt is the best Defensive Center on the team, putting him on the shutdown line replacing Goose should be an easy decision. I think these combos would utilize each of our Centers strengths. Hold the phone, on WGR moments ago, Lindy talked about moving Ennis back to the wing. This would be so stupid, Center is our weakest position and while we gained a Center in Hodgson , we also lost one with Goose leaving, so the Lindy thing to do is take away another Center by moving Ennis back to the wing. The idiocy of our Head Coach will never cease to amaze me.
  11. It did occur to me that it was exaggeration on purpose and I should of stated it in some way, as I said I wasn't trying to insult you in any way. I agree with you that Kassian didn't come close to the expectations of Sabres fans, but I also believe that coaching was a big cause of that and I think we'll see a different player with the Canucks. I also hope that Hodgson's development isn't hampered by what I consider to be inferior coaching. JMO
  12. Forgive my ignorance, what is TSC ? The first line has me thinking you are either very young or not in tune to Sabres history (not an insult). As for the 2nd bolded line, I'm pretty sure Kassian was in Rochester when the Lucic/ Miller incident happened.
  13. I agree, I think it'll all depend on what role they want him to play, I think the Sabres were looking to turn him into more of a goal scorer than a disrupting force that could add points, of course this is all conjecture , because I really don't know what Lindy thinks, or if he thinks.
  14. I brought this up previously, I don't see Lindy taking Roy away from Vanek and Pommers, especially since he's being "productive" and I don't want to see Ennis dropped down or moved back to the wing. I would feel a lot better about this trade if Roy was the one to go and Lindy.
  15. True, but just like the majority of the post in this tread they're based on first reactions (I know my 1st post was) and I doubt that being closer to home even crossed his mind until time passed. Believe me I want this to turn out great just as much as anyone, but I believe until further changes are made to this team we'll never see the full potential of Hodgson or get a sniff of the Stanley Cup.
  16. That may well be a fake account, but I would bet those were his thoughts. Time will tell which team got the better deal, but I believe Kassian probably feels a lot better than Hodgson, who might be thinking he got sent to Hockey Hell (just guessing).
  17. I hope you're right, but I have no confidence in Lindy doing the right thing.
  18. I can't say anything bad about Hodgson, don't know enough about him, what I don't like is this team getting rid of any toughness which it seriously lacks. The one reason I'm not thrilled with this trade (yet) is Lindy Ruff, I have no confidence that Lindy can develop this kid. Is Lindy going to put Hodgson between Vanek and Pommers and remove Roy ? I doubt it, the best case I see happening for Hodgson (with Lindy here) is Centering the 2nd line, which will in turn bump Ennis down to the 3rd line which will stifle him. With Lindy Ruff and Derek Roy remaining on this team, I have a hard time getting excited about any future that involves winning the Stanley Cup. Maybe next year we'll at least make the playoffs.
  19. Yea the 33 points he has will put him right up there with Derek Roy. I hate this trade, for a team that needs toughness, you get rid of one of the toughest prospects.
  20. If Stafford could find the motivation and the drive, he could be a very productive player, he has the size and the skill set, but just not the desire. If I had to choose between getting rid of Stafford or Roy, it would be Roy that I would dump, I believe that Roy is much more of a cancer to this team than Stafford. Maybe if they give Stafford only 1 year contracts, that way he would always be in a contract year, or maybe if they can get a coach to motivate him, instead of Lindy, who couldn't motivate a mouse to eat a piece of cheese.

    OT: Hobbies

I've been disabled for about 6 years so my "hobbies" have really been curtailed, some I still do have, are collecting Buffalo Bills memorabilia, playing bass, although I recently sold the last bass I had, playing Tiger Woods online golf and watching or reading about the paranormal. Spending time with my Grandson has become my favorite thing to do recently. Work was almost like a "hobby" to me, I loved to work, I wasn't a workaholic, just I really liked my job and my employer. I also liked keeping fit through sports or exercise, after I became disabled I ballooned to over 300 lbs, through a better diet and increased activity I gotten down to about 270 lbs, which is still about 20 lbs too much for me. Had to make sure I put this in the right thread, I put it in the trade deadline thread this morning. That's what I get for being up all night.
  22. Sean William Scott has been in some funny movies, this looks like it would be worth seeing.
  23. I do think Stafford has the skill, but he seriously needs someone to kick him in the ass and keep kicking him, someone like a motivator or a coach, maybe Pegula should try to get one of them.
  24. Tell, them you're so sure the Sabres are going to win the Stanley Cup this year, that you bet $2,000 on it, they'll know your crazy.
  25. Happy Holidays to all my fellow SABRES fans.
