  1. A little bit of poetic justice in a blatant slash preventing Wilson from cashing in on the gaping net towards the end...
  2. Third Madrid goal... https://www.cbssports.com/soccer/news/real-madrid-3-1-liverpool-brilliant-bale-goal-karius-nightmare-bloopers-see-madrid-win-third-straight-champions-league/
  3. Indeed it did. I feel bad about it now, considering what happened shortly afterwards... I've done the old "right through the hands" trick in beer league and wanted to immediately find a deep, dark cave to live in for awhile. I can't imagine what that poor kid is going through right now.
  4. That is just about the single dumbest display of poor Goalkeeping I have ever seen in my life...
  5. Sending him down takes just under $1 million off his cap hit, which is why he's likely to continue to rot in the AHL this coming season, as buying him out actually costs money against the cap in the long run.
  6. And Fulham are up to the EPL. Probably just about deserved to win, down a man in what was at times a savage game. Plus, sad John Terry fills my heart with glee...
  7. Lehner was (IMHO) the biggest problem on a team with just about nothing but other problems this past season. Just having the goals he chucked in his own net back makes the team less terrible instantly. While I agree that the free agent class in uninspiring, something absolutely needs to be done if the goal is to win hockey games this coming year.
  8. I am horrified by people trying to talk themselves back into Lehner. We don't need to put our hand on that hot stove again... Garbage. He has the tools to be good, but either can't or won't. What's the line from Bull Durham? Million-dollar arm and five-cent head? Apt in this case.
  9. If Lehner is anywhere near the team come late September I'll eat my hat and anyone else's hat if offered.
  10. I lost it at: "not even the Boston Red Sox..."
  11. Even better, 12:00 noon on ESPN+ if you have access, English Championship playoff final, Aston Villa v. Fulham The biggest stakes in sports anywhere ever. Winner nets upwards of $200 million.
  12. Mike Vernon is the only other goalie i can think of who has done it. Calgary/Detroit.
  13. Put an ice cube on either side until it stiffens up and then hit it with a hammer... wait, that's for gum... Okay, do this, then the hammer thing. Problem solved.
  14. Whether it was his idea or not, he definitely stepped up at the 11th hour and got it over the line almost singlehandedly. Good on him.
  15. I've had an enormous hateboner for Ovi ever since he took that run at Briere. But please, lord, not Vegas. I'm all in on the Caps.
  16. Have you read I'll be Gone in the Dark? If not, and you're into that, I'd recommend it. I finished it up a few weeks ago. Was in the middle of reading it when they actually caught the guy. Which was mind-bending.
  17. Miro Satan FTW! http://awfulannouncing.com/nhl/greg-wyshynskis-dear-satan-tweet-gets-answered-by-miroslav-satan.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  18. Buying Moulson out now actually costs money on the cap as opposed to leaving him buried this coming season. His actual salary as opposed to his cap hit makes me wonder if Arizona might nibble... otherwise, leave him in the AHL.
  19. It's worth noting that XGMTM screwed JBOTS (or whomever) so hard with his "Jobs for the boys" strategy so hard that initial struggle was inevitable. He's dealing with other teams from a position of weakness off the bat. This can not be discounted. I'ma leave the duplicate "so hard" in there for emphasis.
