  1. Looks like it was a numbers game in Seattle for him too with Yanni Gourde coming off IR and Jarnkrok ending his COVID quarantine. https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/kraken_place_alex_barre_boulet_on_waivers/s1_14825_36203870
  2. What is even worse is the entitled adults. I taught some supply chain and finance classes for a masters program around 10 years ago and I still have some of the emails students sent me in case I ever need a good laugh. My favorite was a 30-40 year old adult complaining about the 26% grade they received on a paper they turned in 4 days late (10% points off per day late per the syllabus), and only answered 2 out of 3 questions. They were livid at my "Harvard level grading expectations" even though there is a very clear grading rubric for every single assignment. Good times 😄
  3. It might have to do with the fact they expected to not be 3-0 at this point and didn't want these Rochester guys playing out the year on a losing team. If they keep playing like this we might end up seeing some of these guys that didn't make the team out of camp sooner rather than later
  4. 100%. I lump those into team stats because it I think it says more about the system than individual player. I would even venture to say Friday's game may very well come down to the Sabres success on the PP and PK that night. Something something Alexei Zhitnik something something 😁
  5. I was looking at stats this morning too and notice the Sabres skaters aren't in the top 20 for any scoring stats or TOI. To me this is a testament to Granato's coaching ability and system, and just as importantly the players willingness to buy in. This is exactly what I was hoping to see for this team because it is the only way I can see them having sustained success this season.
  6. I don't think KA should back down. He holds all the power in this negotiation. Tom Golisano once said, and I quote, "There are three facets to negotiation: Time, Information, and Power. You try to get as many of these on your side as you can. Sometimes you don't have time on your side. Sometimes you don't have knowledge. Sometimes you don't have all the power, but the more you have on your side, the better off you are going to be." So the Sabres absolutely have the power per the contract and CBA. The Sabres also have all the information with regards to Jack's condition, albeit they may interpret this information differently than Jack's doctor or other teams. The Sabres shared this information recently to help facilitate this trade and can't imagine they would do so if it was going to damage their negotiating position. Time is tilted towards the Sabres because Jack can't play until he gets surgery, but he also has a NMC that kicks in after the season. The Sabres could technically drag this to the trade deadline, which would then keep Jack out of the playoffs this year too. So both Jack and the team trading for him want to get this done ASAP. I don't want KA to blink, at least not yet, because he still has several months to make a deal happen.
  7. This season I am personally guaranteeing: 1) a 102pt season 2) that I become minority owner of the Buffalo Sabres 3) that I start dating Megan Fox when she breaks up with Machine Gun Kelly because he changes musical genres again, but this time to aggressive polka with a splash of grindcore ska. If it doesn't happen I promise to block Nozlen.
  8. No Carey Price gives me some hope for Gm1. I'm going to be looking for a strong effort for a full 60 minutes and hope everyone plays like their job is on the line - because it is. I'm not surprised with Eakin in game 1 vs a younger player. He will either make his case to stay on the roster, or to be released by the team in the first 10-15 games. I expect most these forwards are on short leashes this season and coaching is going to be looking for game-to-game improvement and effort when making roster decisions.
  9. Well, Price didn't badmouth and make accusations (whether it be fair or baseless) against any of the doctors or FO personal he's worked with on twitter or during interviews. He also refrained from simultaneously taking responsibility and then blaming everyone else around him in the same press conference. So yes, it is a very different situation because each goalie handled themselves in very different manner. And I think everyone is hoping Lehner gets the help they need. He just isn't endearing himself to anyone with his bloviating.
  10. I think we should be allowed to insult ourselves, it looks like that what Rakish was doing. I'll go next: SHAAAAUGHT!!!, you are a such a sexy opinionated moron. You should be ashamed of yourself.
  11. Any Ween fans out there? This guy has all three nights in vegas up on his youtube page. They played more than 100 different songs over the 3 days.
  12. And Robin told other teams during the Spittin Chicklets interview that he struggles making saves during shutouts when skaters slow down before they shoot. Someone from the Golden Knights needs to get this guy away from social media and microphones. I'm really curious to see if LV wanted the press conference yesterday, or if Robin insisted on it, because that press conference was hard to watch. It is clear that Lehner just wants to help protect players in the league, but he doesn't seem to be in the right place mentally to do so. Hopefully the people in his orbit convince him to stay off the internet and away from whatever "news" networks he is watching so he can focus on his health, family, and hockey.
  13. This is the most likely scenario, but that bodes the question as to "why" is it being spoon fed to the press at this time. IMO it is to get other teams worried that a competing team is getting ready to pull the trigger on a trade after reviewing the updated medical records the Sabres recently shared. So I think this move is a tactic to nudge a team towards a trade for Eichel. Hopefully it works in the Sabres favor...
  14. Now we know the real reason why he isn't at camp. I figured the Sharks must of had other concerns than just allegations from an estranged partner during divorce proceedings, especially when her previous allegations were unproven.
  15. It’s from the TV show “Community”. It was a really funny show and it still holds up.
  16. Please add an "All of the Above" option so I can vote properly. Thank you.
  17. There is no way that guy is old enough to drink, is he??? I thought he was some 15 year old kid with all the basic hot takes, complete lack of grammar skills, and zero self awareness.
  18. 100%. He was in the right headspace to interview for a job and work as an NHL goalie, so yes, he should be in the right headspace to be tested like that. Goalie is literally the most stressful position on the ice. He has a history of handling stress badly and I would want to make sure he has developed healthy coping skills to prevent a regression in his progress.
  19. This doesn't sound like the question of an "outdated" coach. It sounds like an interviewer asking an interviewee a question designed to see how he will handle a stressful situation - and it sounds like it may have worked since he saw something during that interview that convinced him not to sign Lehner. Robin Lehner is an NHL goalie. That is a position that comes with an incredible amount of ridicule in the press, interwebs, and sometimes in the locker room. If I'm about to invest a few million dollars on a person I'm going to test him during the interview process to see how he handles the inevitable negative BS he will be exposed to.
  20. Robin does not seem well.
  21. I think you gotta let Skinner be Skinner. He's at his best when he is flying down the ice with the puck on his stick, circling around the net looking for a shot or a swat, and getting on the other teams nerves. So I'm looking to draw up plays that get him the first pass out of the d-zone, and put him on a line with a playmaker and someone with speed and finish that he can look to pass to on the rush. He also needs someone big enough to scare the other team from taking liberties with him. This is why I really thought the Skinner-Cozens-VO line was going to click.
  22. I’m a bit surprised his podcast isn’t more popular because he has some great interviews. He just posted this one today with Rob Ray.
  23. Almost. They drafted Mike Hock instead.
  24. It's a bit frustrating to hear him be so confident the Sabres medical staff caused further injury to his ankle. Especially when it's hard to drink a 30 pack a day and be properly hydrated. It's even harder to stay hydrated when you drink like that and play a position like goalie. And it's even harder to rehab something correctly when your damaging your body so badly every single day. Alcohol is an unforgiving temptress that unfortunately tastes delicious and goes great with food, uncomfortable social situations, and recreational drug use. So I totally get it, but it's important to be honest with ourselves on the risks associated with heavy daily use. To me it seems unhealthy living is a much more likely culprit than a poorly developed rehab plan for a sprained ankle.
