  1. Ruff was brought here to get them in the playoffs this year, Now. He's not here to have a slow build up. We have two of the best goalies in the league. The forwards and their inability to finish has really sunk this club. The Maple Leafs only had 22 shots on Markstrom last night and scored 4 goals. You can't fall this far behind the playoff line this fast and have a realistic chance. They need to beat Florida.
  2. I get why they moved on but i always liked Oloffson. Some people in Buffalo acted like a former 30 goal scorer and sniper grows on trees. So yeah, now that he's with a good team his talents will come out even more.
  3. It never occurred to me that the Sabres would lose both games to NJ in regulation. I figured at worse a split. I am shock and awed. And watching Florida tonight i realize we are a million miles from being a playoff team. Brutal.
  4. What does history tell us about starting 0-2.
  5. You will know the answer after 10 games (especially after starting 0-2). If they are above .500 then yes I think they get in. If they are at .500 then it's unlikely. If they are below .500 then its a big no and probably a 75 point season.
  6. Yes, and it's at least 3 years I've been saying this. The organization is cursed under his ownership. I appreciate what he's done. He's tried. But it's beyond time to sell and I think they would find ownership that keeps the team in Buffalo.
  7. Typically the first game home after a long road trip is lousy. Hope the guys can buck that trend vs LA. One amazing trait with this organization since Terry bought the team is that the worst case scenario always seems to unfold. You can’t come back home with maybe 1 point or 2, it has to be zero. lol. i mean come on, surprise us with a gift just once in this ownership tenure!
  8. I have friends that are fans of the Caps, Rangers and Flyers. They’re all giving me crap today lol. “you send NJ back home with a 2-0 record, you jerks!” I’m like hey, just imagine being a fan of the blue and gold. life is hard for us.
  9. Don’t go in to an effing defensive shell now. that will blow up in their face
  10. Like last season, I’m giving them 10 games to show me something. If they keep me interested i’ll hang in there for the next 10 and maybe hit a game or two. I’m dying to support them like i did all through the 70’s as a kid…80’s and 90’s but they make it so damn hard. I recall last year they started poorly and were like 5-5 after ten games. They hovered around .500 and then just cratered sometime around mid-November through New Years.
  11. I'm not writing us off yet. The Sabres had some good chances. They didn't get beat down. But the slow starts and multi goal first period deficits just can't happen like they did last year. I mean come out tomorrow and be the faster, quicker team.
  12. I talked myself into feeling positive about the Ruff move this summer. It was great nostalgia seeing him yucking it up with Razor and some of the older guys in those offseason videos. But as soon as Toronto fired Keefe on May 9 I was like dang, i wish we would have waited and hired that guy. Then of course he goes to NJ.
  13. Dang, was hoping the Sabres would surprise us this one time, and come out score, take a lead and get a big W today. Now another multi-goal first period deficit. Didn't we lead the league last year? Not giving up on this game by any means, but we have to score the next goal. It's not an option.
  14. Good. Caps were nothing this year. Glad they’re making tee times
  15. Sorry, but i hate the re-hire thing. Hope im wrong but i was wanting a proven coach from outside the organization.
  16. No to Ruff. You don't go backwards, forge ahead with someone from outside the organization.
  17. Anyone have that meme where the Sabres player is holding golf clubs over their head in place of the Stanley Cup? I need that image.
  18. I always harp on desperately getting the loser point as opposed to the brutal 1 goal regulation losses. Buffalo has 30 wins and 5 OT losses. The NY Islanders have 29 wins and 14 OT losses. Guess which team is in the playoffs as of today.
  19. He wasn't in top form that's for sure but I won't blame him. It feels like he's taken the L for several 2-1, 3-2 type games where he's played well and wasn't rewarded. Didn't he lose a 1-0 game too? The Sabres should have had 6 goals yesterday at least. Yes, they are all kicking themselves for "gifting" Anaheim their 4 goals but no NHL team is going to play a perfect turnover free game. That shouldn't be the expectation. And UPL has bailed the club out on the bad turnovers for the most part.
  20. That’s why the 7-0 win was fraudulent. makes their stats looks better but the team can’t win low scoring games. Need to trade some of the younger guys and get experience here. behind the bench too.
  21. No team loses more home games in regulation than the Sabres in the Pegula era. Sell the team Terry! Such a bummer that on Feb. 7th the Sabres are basically playing exhibition games till the end of the season.
  22. I would not go to a game with free tickets, and I was a huge fan for 30 years with seasons.. But anyway, this team has no culture of winning and making the playoffs. It's really hard to blast off with a bunch of young guys. I don't know what the exact answer is? Teams with the culture of winning like Tampa can get injuries and call up a bunch of guys from the minors,,,and they still win. Maybe not at the rate they used to, but the expectation and culture in is place. Maybe Buffalo needs to swap out some guys that have no history of team success for Vets that have been there and done it.
  23. Say it every week of every year. They just cannot get enough losses to OT to at least get a point. Especially at home. So many regulation losses.
  24. Yep. I’m always saying, other NHL teams are down, have rebuilds, Win, have down cycles, rebuild again, Win, etc… all the while the Sabres stay at the bottom. Think of all the examples like this. It’s really pathetic with this franchise. Please sell the team Terry! any owner would do better, just by accident. and you wouldn’t have to upgrade the arena. Just sell.
  25. Too bad for Dion Dawkins. Seems like recently every game he attends and bangs the drum, the Sabres get boatraced. Seattle is just one of those teams that we can’t beat.
