  1. Score 2-2 late second period, I said to myself we need to get at least a losers point. That would show major progress from past seasons. But of course they lose the lead and can’t get the equalizer. Same as the last few seasons, this team can’t come up large and grab a point even on an off night.
  2. Sounds to me like Detroit gets the first goal(s) and then hunkers down, tries to muck up the game flow and gets really good goaltending. Sabres need to score first.
  3. I'm a fan for 40+ years. I live in a different city now but can't get myself to root for another NHL team. So my interest in NHL hockey has declined massively over the past decade. Thank you Sabres!
  4. I’m sorry i believed in these guys. Another waste of a season not enjoying hockey much.
  5. I can’t even quantify what exactly Pegula has done, other then he’s a curse on the Sabres. I know he wants to win, but the fact this organization is going to go 13 years or whatever as a non-playoff team is stunningly awful. This is a league designed to have all its members cycle through the playoffs every 2-3, maybe 4 years at most. (and every year for the lucky ones like Caps, Bruins, Lightning, Knights, Rangers, Leafs, Panthers, Etc). Never in a million years did Bettman or anyone else think a team would miss the playoffs for an entire generation of fans. For the 100th time…Sell the team Terry, please.
  6. I recall last season Columbus came in and beat us like 9-4. We might like seeing them on the schedule, but everyone enjoys seeing Buffalo on their schedule,
  7. I’m annoyed with these guys now. But by mid January i’ll be hoping, as usual, that some get traded and can experience the playoffs. I hate that playing in Buffalo is ruining careers
  8. 10 goals over the last two games. Thats something. But losing that game tonight is what a culture of losing brings. Losers will lose.
  9. The age old term in hockey is "puck luck". And through 3 games the Sabres are on the polar opposite end of that.
  10. Adams could move some good people out but which really good players in return would agree to be traded to the Sabres? It's an absolute career ending place.
  11. Yeah i figured it happens, was just trying to make a point. I bet in many cases though, the team like the Bruins gets a losers point somewhere in their 3 game losing streak. That's another thing that kills me with the Sabres. They rarely get the losers point getting a game to OT, just too many pointless games and that has cost them dearly at the end of seasons.
  12. Again, losing is acceptable here. They try to say and act like it isn't, but it truly is acceptable for this GM and ownership, and these overrated players. The good teams in this league won't have 3 straight regulation losses all season. This organization has let down the great fans of Buffalo in a massive way. I'm not even sure if winning the Stanley Cup someday can offset the misery of 13+ seasons in a league where everyone cycles through the playoffs every season or at worst every few years.
  13. I wouldn't bet on the Sabres but does everything ALWAYS have to go bad for Buffalo and good for Florida? It sure seems that way but at some point the Sabres are going to bounce a couple pucks in off opponents skates. They have good goaltending, they just need a little something from the offense,
  14. I wasn't able to watch the game, was the slash at the end really egregious? Just seems rare for the refs to award a 2-man advantage very late in a tie game. That's close to giving a team the win based on a call. It must've been bad.
  15. Ruff was brought here to get them in the playoffs this year, Now. He's not here to have a slow build up. We have two of the best goalies in the league. The forwards and their inability to finish has really sunk this club. The Maple Leafs only had 22 shots on Markstrom last night and scored 4 goals. You can't fall this far behind the playoff line this fast and have a realistic chance. They need to beat Florida.
  16. I get why they moved on but i always liked Oloffson. Some people in Buffalo acted like a former 30 goal scorer and sniper grows on trees. So yeah, now that he's with a good team his talents will come out even more.
  17. It never occurred to me that the Sabres would lose both games to NJ in regulation. I figured at worse a split. I am shock and awed. And watching Florida tonight i realize we are a million miles from being a playoff team. Brutal.
  18. What does history tell us about starting 0-2.
  19. You will know the answer after 10 games (especially after starting 0-2). If they are above .500 then yes I think they get in. If they are at .500 then it's unlikely. If they are below .500 then its a big no and probably a 75 point season.
  20. Yes, and it's at least 3 years I've been saying this. The organization is cursed under his ownership. I appreciate what he's done. He's tried. But it's beyond time to sell and I think they would find ownership that keeps the team in Buffalo.
  21. Typically the first game home after a long road trip is lousy. Hope the guys can buck that trend vs LA. One amazing trait with this organization since Terry bought the team is that the worst case scenario always seems to unfold. You can’t come back home with maybe 1 point or 2, it has to be zero. lol. i mean come on, surprise us with a gift just once in this ownership tenure!
  22. I have friends that are fans of the Caps, Rangers and Flyers. They’re all giving me crap today lol. “you send NJ back home with a 2-0 record, you jerks!” I’m like hey, just imagine being a fan of the blue and gold. life is hard for us.
  23. Don’t go in to an effing defensive shell now. that will blow up in their face
  24. Like last season, I’m giving them 10 games to show me something. If they keep me interested i’ll hang in there for the next 10 and maybe hit a game or two. I’m dying to support them like i did all through the 70’s as a kid…80’s and 90’s but they make it so damn hard. I recall last year they started poorly and were like 5-5 after ten games. They hovered around .500 and then just cratered sometime around mid-November through New Years.
  25. I'm not writing us off yet. The Sabres had some good chances. They didn't get beat down. But the slow starts and multi goal first period deficits just can't happen like they did last year. I mean come out tomorrow and be the faster, quicker team.
