I think they're point was a decent one. The team is near the bottom of the league with Miller on it, he's only signed through next season, and he's one of the only players that they can receive good future value for in my opinion. If they know Miller wants to resign with the team for the remainder of his career at the beginning of next season then maybe I consider keeping him, but if I'm getting good future value for a guy who would just be part of another losing season next year and then gone for nothing isn't it better to trade him now while he still holds value? I assume a goalie would have to come back from somewhere to pair with Enroth for the remainder of the season. Perhaps they then sign someone in the offseason? (Luongo or Bryzgalov are both buyout candidates) Pro-rated contracts that end at the end of the season.
