  1. The Sabres defy statistics...
  2. Washed up at 30? What happened to this guy?
  3. Maybe that's what it'll take for this team to finally stand up for a goalie? Racki was clearly battling some undisclosed injury.
  4. If the flu's caught the locker room, it would make sense that several players are not where they should be, late in the game, even if they've recovered.
  5. By all means - Feel free to turn if off if the good guys fall behind again :flirt:
  6. Just a little disappointed we didn't get Ryan Getzlaf for him......
  7. I'ts offical - This is 1996/1997 again.
  8. Hi all, As we all know, the next-gen NHL15 is a huge step backwards in terms of game modes, but I guess we've all beaten that horse to death. That kind of put me in a jam, as I usually play "Live the Life", but there's no way I could go back to the '09 BAP that Next-Gen offers, but I still enjoy the new AI, and how the game plays in general. I play Online Versus, but I really wanted to get into a single player aspect of the game as well. So I figured I'd try playing as the GM, only without actually controlling the players on the ice, and only doing the coaching bit instead. I then figured I could edit down the highlights of each game, and make a sort of NHL Center Ice video recap of each game, about 3-5 minutes long, and throw the whole thing online. I'd love some feedback on it, if at all possible. At this time, I only have one "behind the scenes" video online in the series, discussing possible trades etc., and I'm curious what people might be interesting in seeing, in terms of management stuff. I'd also like some feedback on the highlights, obviously :-) Lately, I started adding a text recap as well, in the information field below the video, but this only goes for the last 6 or 7 vids. I have a full dynasty thread on operationsports.com too, where I also add complete boxscores and game stats. I'm playing as the Blackhawks, so sorry about that. Tried out with the Sabres at first, but only managed one win in my first eight games or so ...... If you have the time, please have a look : IMHO, the quality of the highlights have improved as I went along, and as such the last ten sets of highlights are probably superior to the first twenty, just as a heads-up warning :-)
  9. "Generational" is an ungrateful term, because who in their right minds would claim Mario Lemieux wasn't a generational talent? But he played alongside Wayne Gretzky, so... Close, but no cigar.
  10. Outshot 34 to 16, and winning 1-0? When do the Nagano Olympics start again, cause this *must* be 1998 :w00t:
  11. Lucic will yap about the "code" everytime he ends up in a fight with someone as big as him, and he'll happily forget all about said "code" everytime he goes after someone half his size. His time has come and gone, he was a beast 2 years ago, but the league is wise to him now, and the big guys knows he doesn't want to square off against them. Classless punk, and I expect his game only to go downhill the rest of his career. He's only 26 and he's already showing signs of losing a step in his skating.
  12. Top class entertainment - Not only is he decked by one shot, he also whines and ###### about it. Lucic is a classless dick, always was, always will be I'm still in the camp that would much rather see his goalie run through the end boards.
  13. I'll give them this, if we're going to suck with an occasional win tucked in here and there, this is the way it's supposed to be done :flirt:
  14. To be perfectly honest, all those quotes I'm sure I've heard from Pominville in the past. They've always talked a nice talk. I'm hoping you're right, but the jury's still out. As to whether McDavid and Eichel hate losing or not, I agree - Of course they hate losing, I doubt you can find a single NHL'er who doesn't. I bet even Cody Hodgson hates losing, but does it show in his game? Unless changes are made, besides bringing up rookies and drafting youngsters, regardless how talented, I don't see how this team starts winning. What I'm saying is, pieces need to added, and that those pieces may be hard to come by.
  15. Not just that, but one of the reasons you should consider things veeeeery carefully before you start a deliberate tank, is that you could end up breeding a losing culture in the team, that takes over the entire organisation. I'm sure GMTM expected the team to be bad this year, but I doubt he saw the current trainwreck coming, and I fear both he and Nolan are absolutely cluess about how to rectify it, which *has* to raise some panic-levels somewhere. Reinhart is currently being subjected to this every day, as is Zadorov and Risto. McEichel is next in line to learn how to lose, lose often, and lose big. We can't draft our way out of this, this is going to take years to fix, and it starts by adding guys who want to win, who can play, and who are very vocal in the locker room. Unfortunately, there aren't too many of those guys around, and I doubt we'll be able to attract many, as long as the Sabres are synonomous with not only losing, but also playing like losers.
  16. That's funny, cause that's exactly what I expect the shots to be. In Minnesota's favour of course.
  17. I have the distinct feeling the Hanson brothers would've turned pussies instantly, had they been traded to this team. There's just something fundementally wrong here, and it seems to affect everyone.
  18. Good, maybe he can take a hit then :wallbash:
  19. Nolan was quoted as trying to call you yesterday to ask if you could center the 3rd line.
  20. Come on now, tell me how you guys *really* feel? Oh lord, the ghost of Darcy lingers like the blackest of mists over the Niagara Center. I swear to god, the man will come back to haunt that place, once he's gone. Nothing that evil truly ever dies, you know.
  21. Yeah, does seem a little *too* typical, doesn't it? That said, this organisation really can't expect others to do their work for them.
  22. I'm still looking for the answer to this question : Who in this organisation is going to help these kids develop? Getting McDavid might get us an extra 30 goals per season, but anyone thinking he'll change this team from "the worst team in hockey" to something other than "one of the worst teams in hockey" are fooling themselves. This team needs at least 2 or 3 vets who can still freakin' play, and still *want* to play, before our prospects will have any chance of becoming more than just that.
  23. We have playmakers on this team??
  24. Would certainly seem so, should've seen it coming..... :)
