  17. But learning to win... putting your head down even when going gets tough to quote John Belushi with Germans and Pearl Harbor... staying with it till you figure it out... what the Blues did this year... it may be something small or big that flips the switch, but you dont hang your head... you keep searching for that switch... cohesive teams do that... sulking teams dont... or they stay too long in their own frustration instead of figuring out how to support each other... we have seen too much of that with the Sabres... part of that is maturity and young leadership imo. Sabres need to find a guy with both talent and maturity to lift guys up and help them buckle down when they need too.

  21. He really was one of the greats and an even better human being.
  22. Disagree... culture starts first... winning is a result... played on too many different teams in different sports... probably my best example was a club soccer team played on in High School.. We were decent, really got along, but didnt have any superstars and would get intimidated by either bigger teams or teams with a couple of skilled players. So we would often get down in the first half early in the season til because we played team defense and offense and we were not selfish just inexperienced something would click in the second half... we enjoyed playing together and we would just put our heads down and go to work. We didnt win all the games we came back in but as the season went on we started better and won most of our games toward end of the season. Why? Because we basically said screw it, lets work... play together and see what happens... I had speed played wing and though not greatly skilled could chase down any ball in the corner and cross it to my forwards or center halfs. This was our bail out defensive play and was effective switching the field. Bottom line is we found what worked for us and just hustled... The best teams in that league hated playing us because they had to play the whole game and knew they were in for a fight... that is what I want to see out of the Sabres.
  23. So apparently for those who care to know... there are two schools of thought regarding these types of cancers... One comes out of an Egyptian tradition that sees bladder cancer resulting from water quality bug issues and is treated with radiation and a western tradition resulting more from environmental..ie tobacco, diet that uses more chemo... both are effective... the concern is the rad is too localized.. and for my western ex smoker body the later sounds proper and radiation can always be tried later.
  24. So treatment just changed because I had a 2nd opinion with a Doc at Corneil Weil who is director of bladder urinary cancer division... much more knowledgeable in my type of Cancer, he sees them regularly... now gonna just go for Chemo but a different kind called MVACa type of Cisplatin (sp?) more global but less of it over longer time period... No radiation. Meet with my Oncologist on Monday but trying to educate myself on this stuff is nuts.
