  1. Yeah. It as modified today. So nothing is amiss at this point. As I said earlier, I now understand why there were 40 people in that appeal hearing room. Those lawyers teed one up indeed! I don't think the filing error impacts anything. It pertained to an attachment and was modified today.
  2. On page 14 of his final decision filed in federal court yesterday, Goodell addresses the issue of Law of Shop. Essentially, his argument is that all cases are unique and he goes on to draw contrasts to other contested rulings. I find it compelling. Not sure how a judge will view it, but I can see why some believe Goodell did a good job in articulating his final decision for the court's consumption. If anyone hasn't read it, take the time to do so. I can now see why there were 40 people in that hearing room at the appeal.
  3. Ravens game in which they violated the spirit of the equal substitution rule by declaring a receiver "ineligible." The league closed that loophole in the offseason.
  4. Much appreciated, 11. Looks like this guy from Forbes agrees with you as well. http://www.forbes.com/sites/darrenheitner/2015/07/28/odds-are-stacked-against-tom-brady-successfully-suing-the-nfl/
  5. Hey, Bert. Any chance you might be willing to share this with the folks on The Stadium Wall over at TwoBillsDrive? We could use the edification over there.
  6. I wouldn't call what the Saints have done as being shrewed. Quite the contrary. The idea is to avoid the bill coming due in such a way. That takes an appreciation of cap dynamics over certain time frames, usually three and five years out, relative to your overall roster composition. Some are better at it than others. Perhaps it's my bias, but I really feel Overdorf is one of the best. To say it doesn't matter is a bit of an over-statememt. But the increased media revenues and higher cap ceilings should make it easier for teams moving forward. GO BILLS!!!
  7. Not at all. I have the utmost respect for Jim Overdorf and what he has meant to the organization over the years. Especially when operating within strict budgetary restrictions all those years. GO BILLS!!!
  8. We are lucky to have one of the best cap managers in the business. GO BILLS!!!
  9. He's very highly regarded in MLB circles as well.
  10. Read: someone in the front office had someone (his agent) talk some sense into the man. This party was another "Vikings Cruise" in the making. GO BILLS!!!
  11. Race relations were "pretty damn good" 5-10 years ago? In this country? Racism is a media created and fueled problem? I don't have the words.
  12. 2000 is a yardage equivalent to his level of douchiness, not a literal demand or expectation to compensate. Actually, no amount of yardage would offset his douchiness for that matter. He is a grade A butthole and I can see his act wearing thin. Thankfully, we have a locker room that can tolerate it. I don't think he is impressing folks in the front office with this kind of behavior, either. GO BILLS!!!
  13. Absolutely. And it has to be at a level sufficient to offset his douchiness. Might just take a 2000 yard season to do that, too. GO BILLS!!!
  14. I see McCoy wearing out his welcome sooner than later. GO BILLS!!!
  15. Wouldn't have mattered if Kolb were healthy. Manuel outplayed him in OTAs, mini camp, and training camp. Something nobody expected. It would have been a tough sell to the vets on that team especially, if Marrone named anyone other than Manuel the starter. GO BILLS!!!
  16. Gotta respectfully disagree here. We are seeing the consequences of invading in the first place. Just as many predicted in the summer and fall of 2002.
  17. Really? That's what you got out me saying they don't have a stoneage telecoms system? Unreal. For the record, the majority of Iranians DO NOT CHOOSE to live that way. I sense this is going nowhere, so feel free to engage others on the subject.
  18. Not sure where you are getting this notion that Iran is some backwater country when it comes to telecoms. They have one of the best networks in the region, both hard line and wireless. Is there a level of censorship? Yes. But the majority of Iranians, especially in major cities, know what's happening around the world and in their own country. The majority of Iranians don't favor a theocracy, too.
  19. Good post, d. It's easy to forget in today's sensationalized view of the mid-east in general and Iran in particular, that so much knowledge was developed there. It's the "cradle of civilization" for a reason.
  20. Everything I'm hearing suggests otherwise. I'll be surprised if he's the OL coach when camp opens. GO BILLS!!!
  21. Looks like Kromer is all but officially let go at this point. Anderson's gonna get his shot. GO BILLS!!!
  22. I, too, was looking forward to a Risto/Z pairing for the next 10 years. But, aside from a handful of great plays and that he gives out the most pucks to kids during warmups, he raised a ton of red flags for me. I don't hold his immaturity against him; he's just 20 after all. But he mailed it in the last 20 games last year and that concerns me greatly. I don't care if he didn't like Nolan or that he was fed up with the tank, you either have passion to play or you don't. I am weary of players that seem to turn their passion on and off. When I contrast his 20 year old attitude with a player like Girgensens for example, it really crystallizes the issue in my mind. Too much of a wild card. GO SABRES!!!
  23. Not meaning to come across as disingenuous at all. Perhaps his number will have future cap implications in the face of re-signing certain other players; that remains to be seen. But that's not the context in which I meant it. In terms of how teams value players, the money is a non-issue and can't be considered something they "gave up" to sign him in the way that the two players and two prospects were. GO SABRES!!!
  24. It's not about the points with O'Reilly. He's the new "intangible"; Drury 2.0. If he scores 60 points it's pure bonus. The points he prevents opponents from scoring are just as valuable imo. When it comes to hockey character, Stafford isn't in the same universe. Not even close. The money is a total non issue. GO SABRES!!! In a few years, his deal won't seem like an "over" payment at all as salaries continue to escalate. GO SABRES!!!
  25. Agree entirely with this post, especially the bold text. GO SABRES!!!
