  1. Disagree but I understand that thinking as well.
  2. Adams and Donny will barely make it through this offseason. There is virtually nothing that will make them believe they will make it through next off season without a playoff appearance. Nothing will incentivize them to delay anything.
  3. You need to read the Athletic article about all six teams around them. The teams around them are most likely taking a step back. Pittsburgh and Washington are stuck in that purgatory where they are trying to keep icons happy, the Islanders are aging and loaded with bad contracts, Philly will likely take a step back as they rebuild, even Tampa is showing signs of aging. I am as frustrated as anyone but I realize a lot of the anger with the four years of Adams and Granato has more to do with the nine years that preceded them. The Sabres are still the youngest team in hockey and don’t need a major overhaul.
  4. Again, that’s nonsense. Blaming Skinner for all the woes of the teams he’s been on is beneath you. You obviously are a lot smarter then someone that would leap to this conclusion but if that’s how you want to end the discussion fine.
  5. I saw a study once pointing out how goal scorers even with the worse defensive metrics still positively effected their team’s outcome by the virtue of how hard it is to score in the NHL. Maybe if I’m bored one day I’ll find it.
  6. One player is not the reason why, or why not, a team makes the playoffs.
  7. Yes, like Alexander Mogilny, Dave Andreychuck and Jack Eichel would never win the Cup.
  8. I still think the Flyers are one of the teams that will fall out of the race. Trading them EJ was a 4D chess move and should be the grease that slide needed.
  9. Stone might be done. I have no problem with what Vegas is doing unless it can be proven they are faking injuries.
  10. Adams said at the deadline press conference that they would be careful with him and not rush him. If it’s up to him, he’ll play when ready. The team will only let him play if they are comfortable he’s ready. My guess is he only plays if they are in the playoff race.
  11. I’m really intrigued by the thought that these brokers still exist. What would the markup have to be on the ten to fifteen “high demand” games to cover the cost of the other twenty-seven and still make a reasonable return on investment?
  12. That’s my impression too. It’s strictly a broker thing.
  13. It’s really kind of simple, if both players play their perceived potential, the Sabres got a top pairing defenseman for a second line center.
  14. A) The NHL, like all leagues provide suggestions on hiring and it’s a public knowledge that TPEGS consulted with them prior to both Housley and JBOT hirings B) Murray was a rising star given a lot if credit for his work with Anaheim and obviously had a lot of league ties because of family. C) Krueger was extremely well thought of throughout the league. The Canadian press especially applauded the move as most thought he got shafted in Edmonton. D) Lafontaine was extremely respected throughout the league until it became clear he didn’t have temperament for the job. Its all in black and white if you want to spend the time going through old newspaper clippings.
  15. While you can’t argue that TPEGS decisions haven’t worked, Kevyn Adams was the only hiring that was out of the blue with no recommendation from the league.
  16. I don’t know why anyone is upset about Vegas unless you think they are faking injuries. I wish every sport allowed teams to go over the cap if injuries left you unable to compete. It does make me laugh at those who think the Sabres should be worried about salary cap restraints.
  17. I’d be really surprised if LA was on his 16 team no trade list.
  18. He’s just a throw in. They took care of their captain.
  19. I’m sorry, given what’s been going on in the room the last couple months, the room is the least of my concerns.
  20. I believe it was two years ago but things change and in the same way players understand it’s a business, they also appreciate when it’s possible to do right as well.
