Changes you would like to see made to the next CBA

I am really surprised that there are people who think that player salaries have anything to do with ticket prices. Companies charge what their analyst say will maximize sales and thus revenues irrespective of any expenses. -
Tampa used this model pretty successfully. Drafting for skill, trading for grit has worked for multiple franchises

That was a trademark of Lindy’s best teams. Other teams get back in and they responded quickly -
I read somewhere that even the manufacturer was surprised that the “rope” hat has become so in demand among both golfers and the NFL.

How’s that different than the Wilson Foundation giving away $1B? And I’m really asking because I don’t desire to read the details of either. I think they are both registries though.

It still amazes me that people buy into all the rhetoric. The contracts are 95% standardized. Guys sign in free agency in less than an hour. A contract not being signed is the result of an agreement not being reached. There is no way they spend the summer negotiating anything.

Just a response to your saying it’s not any kind of heavyweight.

176 is light heavyweight in boxing
-
Obviously the number changes slightly depending on roster moves but those were the exact numbers on opening day last year. As for Rosen, I would go with light heavyweight but he plays a game I think you’d appreciate.

NHL average is 6’1” and 198lbs to be exact

This is the impression I got. If you are going to spend, it better work. Now others I trust have a different opinion. I know they believe that Adams had a deal for Zegras and hadn’t gotten approval from ownership. Only a few people really know but I do believe this a playoffs or bust year.

No, but it only works when number one line is on the ice and refuses to display any defensive stats. -
Nope

Carolina defers part of Jarvis salary, are the flood gates open?

I’ll defer to you on this. I haven’t really played around with the numbers or talked to anyone regarding any ramifications. -

Oh God, a friend just informed me that Ecklund posed the same question as I previously did regarding an Ohtani type deal. An example of when imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery. -

The NHL has broad powers to limit purposeful cap circumvention. This is peanuts but what if someone pulls a Dodger contract and defers $60M into a ninth year? I think the NHL steps in and I’m not sure the PA is strong enough to object. -
As I’ve said before, Power is thought of much more highly outside of Buffalo then he is on this board. Frankly, I’m not sure which side is right but it’s a thing.

I posted something a few years back showing that Buffalo had the most drafted players currently on NHL rosters. There are a lot of reasons for that. It is also hard to quantify it because all players aren’t equal. You’d have to delve further and maybe see who has the most top six forwards, top four defenseman and starting goalies.

A) like I said, he didn’t miss anytime with the islanders B) if I recall correctly, his first “concussion “ turned out not to be a concussion at all but some sort of neck injury that had mis-diagnosed
-
His first four years, two with the Islanders, two with Buffalo, he played 80 or more games.
