  1. I look at Martin like Lafontaine. I wish they could have continued but they had great careers before their injuries. Connelly never really had a chance to show how good he was or could be.
  2. It’s gotta be him. He was so good when he got hurt. Lafontaine a close second for me and if you want a personal favorite, I was on the Corey Tropp bandwagon early so I’d of liked to see him succeed.
  3. They didn’t keep TOI back then but on the 74/75 Sabres, Luce, Ramsay and Gare were the 4th, 7th and 8th highest scorers. I’d be shocked if they didn’t play second line minutes.
  4. Thanks for posting this. I meant to about a week ago and forgot.
  5. I have a similar situation. Because I trust my guy and the price is always right, I overlook some things I normally wouldn’t, such as my squeaky brakes that have had me back a few times.
  6. I believe Chad, Brawndo and myself, amongst others, have been told the same thing. Necas never made sense to Buffalo for a number of reasons. I do believe Ehlers agreed to waive but not extend but the trade was never completely agreed upon. I still think Zegras remains a possibility although it feels like Buffalo is willing to wait it out.
  7. You can count me amongst this group.
  8. Because I don’t hold Adams responsible for anything that happened before JBOT was fired and I don’t dwell on the past. He screwed up last year by running it back. If he would have made these type of adjustments last offseason, they likely make the playoffs and the mood of this board is completely different.
  9. I disagree. It should have been done one year ago, not years ago.
  10. Same reason Tampa rarely drafted them. You draft for skill and trade or sign for grit. Seemed to work well for them.
  11. I keep hearing two different tales. Two people say the Zegras deal is complete but TPEGS has to yet to ok spending to the cap. One person insist that Skinner buyout was the offset for firing Granato. Two other people insist that deal is close but say it has nothing to do with an internal budget. All these people have proven reliable in the past. Who knows, but like LG says, until they spend to the cap, it’s hard to argue that there isn’t an internal cap.
  12. I just don’t understand the constant reference to the interview process. An interview process doesn’t guarantee success, the interview process lends almost nothing when you are talking about general coaches. What could you possibly learn from interviewing a veteran coach that you wouldn’t already know? If you are planning to hire a rookie coach, then yes, there is probably a lot to learn from talking to multiple candidates and yet it’s still a crap shoot.
  13. I’m sure I am just echoing other’s opinions, but while there are obviously many factors, and a lot of ways they can get better, to me the simplest answer is that Tage and Dylan stay healthy and play like two years ago and UPL also stats healthy and plays like last year.
  14. Savoie likely spends the year in the minors.
  15. Lance drives me nuts but he has good sources. He called almost all the day one signings this year.
  16. Torts hates him and Frost. The front office disagrees or they would be already gone.
  17. Not surprisingly, this was almost my exact reaction plus I like Wahlberg but he’s at least two, if not three years away.
  18. The only thing that’s a little hinky is that Anaheim is getting killed worse then Buffalo for doing nothing so it would seem they need to acquire stars, not trade them and also, may need to take on some salary if they trade Zegras. I’ve heard Greenway mentioned as well in that regard.
  19. More and more I think it will be either a Krebs deal for Farabee or as Chad has speculated, Wahlberg and a first for Zegras. Both deals likely involve more parts but both have been whispered for awhile and someone I trust implicitly confirmed speculation on the Zegras deal. At first I wasn’t a fan but the more I think about it, both Tage and Dylan would thrive with a playmaker on one wing and Zegras, if healthy and motivated, would be close to as good as it gets. Plus two more years at $5.75M isn’t bad either.
  20. Oh they definitely stay there but I’m not sure how much time they spend discussing nickles when millions are being discussed
  21. He owns the building but it’s a Shaner Hotel Property. He’s basically the landlord. Unless they put some weird provisions in the agreement it’s not like he can just walk in a grab a room.
  22. Guess what, the easiest players to trade are the best players. If you draft the best player available regardless of size, you acquire more players other teams want thus accumulating assets needed to make your team better. It’s really not a novel concept.
  23. Their goals by period in 2022/2023 First period, for 69, against 67 Second period 106/87 Third period 103/64 Overtime 11/4
  24. New Jersey was the second worst team in the league at scoring the first goal, just a tad better then Buffalo last year.
