He is President of the freaking organization. I'd be in the war room too. Some day people will realize there are three people responsible for the Bills being in Buffalo. Wilson, Pegula and Brandon. Has he made mistakes sure and he'd be the first to admit that he was out of his element as GM but he is one of the most respected executives in the NFL and will soon be the same in the NHL. His presence and ties to WNY will be huge in the growth of sports and entertainment events in the area.

First, I'm talking about the GM. Second, the league does not like anything taking away from their narrative. It's a yearly thing and the league lets teams know how they feel when news leaks on game days.

Couldn't agree more. I don't want to exclude someone just because of past affiliation but I definitely don't want to consider someone just because of a past affiliation.

Young players developing the way they are supposed has to be partly due to good coaching though I still think coaching can be overrated.

For the record, Chiarelli was not a "new" GM when he traded Hall. Did it in his second year after getting a feel for his team. Still a bad move but not an impulsive one.

I'm not sure who ultimately ends up the better player but how do you figure Matthews had a far better season? Jack had a much better points per game average playing in a much more restrictive system.

My feelings as well. As for drop in scoring, they seem to attribute it to the fact that once they realized they had to cover up for goaltending it adversely effected their output. Also LR attributed it as well to change on defensive make up.

I agree with everything except the last sentence. The organization knew that Miller was the one. There mistake was believing they could turn one of the other into other assets. They held them for too long and got nothing but mid round draft choices for them.

Something that needs to be said. Petersen is a valuable asset, but he is by no means a sure fire prospect. I want them to sign him but it won't be like losing Vesey if they don't.

Although Vesey took the heat for his demands, burning a year is standard practice for most of NHL. Chad Rhuwedel and Casey whatever from last year all signed with the same contingency
