Sabres season ticket prices going up again
tom webster replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
It will be. Like you point out in the next post, I'm sure they know at what point its better to sell 17K at x amount versus 19070 at y amount. Is it better to eat some games in return for a windfall at 10 games? I'm sure its all calculated down to the penny. -
Sabres season ticket prices going up again
tom webster replied to matter2003's topic in The Aud Club
I'm sure its killing Canadian teams not named Toronto and Montreal and a significant portion of the Sabres' market. Its entirely about what the market will bear. I understand PA's disdain for the pr stuff but he knows better. He just wants the team to be honest. What they sell tickets for has nothing to do with their bottom line or their obligations to the CBA. Its all about maximizing revenue and when the tickets start to go unsold, the price will stabilize. -
Thanks. I Guessing points percentage is the key number?

What is the playoff scenario? I'm sure it's out there but I don't really want to spend the time. Can someone enlighten me

32 jobs, 28 pictured. I'd guess 4 are missing

Agree 100%, I was just commenting on previous post but it's not about winning trades it's about building team that can bring home the Cup.
-
I think if Fasching turns into a solid top 6, we win this trade big. McNabb and the two prospects are JAG's and if you get a solid top 6 for that, sign me up all day.

Vogl was first report I saw saying that he would be signed by Monday morning and the fact that Russo is from Minnesota makes him as local as the Buffalo guys on this story but ok.However, I admit Russo is more connected then any of our local guys but he's more connected then 99% of the beat guys.

UFA College Defenseman Casey Nelson signs with Sabres
tom webster replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
As I said, this is a good sign. In years past the Sabres have gotten the second level college free agents. This guy is apparently one of the top guys. Ninety percent of these guys turn out to be fringe NHL'ers but everyone once and awhile you find a Dan DeKeyser. -
I have been waiting for the Sabres to sign one of the top level guys. This is a good sign.

Steven Stamkos stays in Tampa Bay, 8.5mil x 8yrs
tom webster replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Yeah, you are right. Without questioning the possession numbers, their production is similar while Kane is admittedly ahead. I would call it close. It's been fun debating with you and True but I think it's time to move on till this because mes a real question. -

I'll give you the semantics so you'll give me that we all agree it's been Stankos two worst years. Again, the question is if it's a trend or not. -

Now you are getting into JJ territory, In that same three year period,Stamkos registered 95 points in less games due to his leg injury. I think they are about even. -

While I am a big believer in numbers, I don't buy the notion that numbers can quantify a player's defensive ability from team to team. They will tell you to a certain extent which players on your own team have better results but there are so many variables involved that while numbers and charts make for a good discussion they can't adequately define which is better defensively. That being said, I think we can agree that neither is known for their defensive ability. I only brought Kane into the conversation anyway because JJ, using this year's sample size labeled him clearly superior to Stamkos 5 on 5 and the numbers don;t back that up throughout their careers. As far as your first question, when you respond one player is better then the other based on their team's accomplishments, you are blaming Stamkos even though you didn't directly say it. And Hall will ask for more then Stamkos money when he hits unrestricted free agency. -
Be safe.

First, Hall can't do everything himself, but Stamkos is supposed to.Second, this is the second time you referenced Kane's defensive play. I have never, ever hear anyone laud him for that, even his close friends. I'd like you to back that up with some facts. -
John Bucciogross(sic) reporting Fasching will sign tonight.

Prior to this year, Patrick Kane and Stankos were nearly identical in 5 on 5 stats. Last year Stamkos was tied for 2nd in 5 on 5 goals. I'm using your own website to get these numbers. Why do you keep insisting that he is not good 5 on 5. Also, please tell me who you consider "elite" multi dimensional players. -
Not to mention that if they made the NCAA's he wouldn't have been going to classes anyway.

And Russo is as good as it gets.

What's that, Stamkos was tied for 2nd in the league in 5X5 goal scoring last year? During a particularly bad year for him, he and the great 5 on 5 Patrick Kane were virtually dead even on points per 60 minutes of 5 on 5. How is that possible? Again, if I have the time, I will put together a "Hoss type" argument for Stamkos but quite frankly, it seems like a waste of time. Most people here have put up pretty good arguments for both sides and my guess is that my stat argument would be met by an anti stat argument. I just hope the Sabres do one of three things, add the top level defense that True wants or add Stamkos or add someone that JJ thinks is better. Then we all win. -

Still doesn't get old, makes me laugh everytime. -

I can't argue that but either way its way premature to count him as a 30 goal guy. -

I think the only one you can really count on is Jack. Sam has had a great year but I see him settling in as a 20 goal, 50 assist guy, same with ROR. Kane is what he is, a highly valuable 25 goal scorer. Whether you want Stamkos or not, they need another scorer. There is chance that Bailey or Fasching could develop into that but in the meantime, you need a little more from your wingers. -

Who exactly are you counting on to be legitimate 30 goal scorers?
