What if it was Joel Lomurno named GM, still good with that plan? He's an ECHL GM too, just not with the name recognition around here Briere has.

This is not a Fugazi post.

I think a player can waive their NMC/NTC whenever they want, but I'm not sure how many GTs waive unless it's Buffalo or the AHL (which may well be the case in Dallas). For that matter, I wonder how many teams are waiting to see if Dallas ends up facing waiving someone and will low-ball offer a low pick.

Technically, he was banished to Missouri. For that matter, maybe we've been looking at the O'Reilly trade wrong; that was balancing out the Miller trade which went badly for the Blues, IIRC.

GDT: Sabres @ Penguins, Nov. 16, 2021, 7pm, MSG, ESPN+, WGR

Yep, he is of the old school, if you didn't win you lost. The metric usually aligns with the points to get into the playoffs, so it's not terrible, although I prefer points percentage as a better. 0.580 and you're a good chance to get into the playoffs with 95 points. You could be DeLuca.500 at 41-37-4 and easily miss with 86 points. Or be DeLuca.500 at 41-15-26 and be near the top of the league with 108 points. -
Is the team dog a "thing", or something unique to the Sabres? I've been to a few tech conferences[0] (prior to 2020) that had puppy areas, where you could go hang out with dogs (and maybe even cats at one) during downtime. [0] CNCF/KubeCon and Red Hat-sponsored stuff

Not interested in giving up assets for a feel-good move. As others said upthread, come UFA time if Kane is interested in a short-ish, mid-price contract to close things up in Buffalo, maybe. Don't like the scandal stuff, although if KA got a feel that he truly says to himself, "that was really dumb and I'm never letting that happen again" I'm cool with second chances. Otherwise he can play somewhere else.

Seems like a conditional 7th (if the Sabres win the Stanley Cup in 2022) would be a good "Future Considerations". 🙂 I think the trade deadline sell-off is probably the most likely spectre. That close to the cap, you might not be able to trade even a JAG for a pick without falling under the floor (or taking something back). Boychuk is insurance from having to do weird cap games. Still like to see the Sabres bring him by and hit him in the knee a few timtes though. Oh man, I wish I could find it but I just saw a picture of a pair of bikes joined at the back wheel (three wheels total, one rider is forward, the other backwards, presumably either can be the forward person.)

Nope, it's all upward from here! Let the era begin! (I thought about calling it the Non-Eichlel/Unjacked/etc. Era, but I don't come here to be negative; no time for that)
-
First game of the Krebs/Tuch era!
-
Very true, Cozens will be a disappointment if his byline is "can fight, doesn't put up many points". That's a JAG that is a waste of a high draft pick.
-
It's the 5G installing itself, you should get signal in a few hours and it'll settle out.
-
Someone said it further up, but sure, he's probably #2 behind Thompson for scoring centers. That's still not a trade off you take. Murray or even Girgensons can deal with the pest if needed, but the point stands: having Cozens off the ice hurts the Sabres and helps the Kings.
-
I believe the stock announcer phrase is, "The Kings will take that trade-off all day; their wing for the Sabres current #1 Center". You don't fight the pest if you're on the first line, you draw a penalty and smile at him as he skates over to the box for 2.
-
Barring major injury again, I think he plays as long as he wants to. Even 75% or even 50% Jack Eichel is pretty good, and if he's up for taking the pay cut I can't imagine there's not a team that'd pay him (say) $4M/yr for second or third line.
-
Now, if they took that $2M off the Hawks' salary cap for a few years, that'd actually be a punishment.
-
You should probably stop. It's clear nothing you say is going to get above PTR's FanComplianceFor% threshold. I'm also worried that you might not be meeting FanComplianceAgainst/Bruins% number too, but let's work up to that.
-
It works for me, not going to pay money to watch, still like the people here enough to visit and keep track of the team. If they team stays good, I might even turn the bandwagon guy in my avatar around and run towards it. There are many noble and ignoble things to spend time on in life. Missing the Sabres this year is neither; spend time on what matters to you.
