  1. That's the exact feeling I'm getting from those I have talked to. It's mostly a brazen "yeah, the balls were deflated, so what" response each time.
  2. It depends on where you type up your responses, but you can still cut up posts like that. It's a little more tricky if you use the quick post box at the bottom of the screen. If you use that, you need to click the "More Reply Options" button. With that, it will open up a new page that give you the full tool bar. If you usually respond by hitting the "Quote" button on the post, that will take you to the same window. When you get to the window which does have the toolbar, you will want to hit the icon in the top left corner which if you hover your mouse over it will read "BBCode Mode". If you click on that button, the post will show up in the old way with the quote tags. Then you can cut up the post like you would have before.
  3. Minor nitpick: that's not McKenzie reporting anything. That's him offering his opinion.
  4. What's he going to want though? He will be 36 at that point. I don't think we've seen anything from him during his career that suggests he will be a Jagr-like player still producing into senior citizenship.
  5. Thanks for the info Scott. I wouldn't have figured out the fixes without this thread. :worthy:
  6. Didn't LA lose the Raiders twice? I've lost track of that team's moves.
  7. That backhand was filthy
  8. The quoted posts are very odd, at least while reading on my phone.
  9. And that is about 90% by design at this point.
  10. This is worth repeating. This board is better than this garbage.
  11. I'm amazed Utica got their team even though these kind of moves have been talked about for a couple years now.
  12. And if Kyle Turris had a little more meat on his bones, Kane wouldn't have gone #1. Looking back its interesting to see how that one turned out. Turris going #1 sure would have changed a few things.
  13. I don't put much stock into the talent dilution idea. While there may be a lack of superstars, there isn't a lack of overall talent. There is essentially no difference between many of the guys in the league today and the marginal ones who just missed out. That and we have a long list of players who have been forced out simply due to money reasons. There will be no trouble assembling two more hockey teams, minus the typical growing pains. My only concern about expansion is what we eventually lose to an expansion draft.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if he Kovalchuk's it back to Europe after this season. This is the year where his recapture amount starts to climb (I miss cap geek right now). If he's going to get out, this might be the year.
  15. There's almost zero chance that he will play out that contract. They're going to be hit with a cap recapture at some point regardless of what they do.
  16. By the end of this season, he will have collected $47.4 million on that contract so far, all with the team he wanted to play for. He will retire back to Europe long before he hits the cheap years of the contract and will not play for any bottom feeder. If that makes someone an idiot, I'll gladly sign up for it.
  17. I'm kind of a big deal.
  18. Last night on the way home from work, something flew out of the ridiculously overloaded (and open) bed of a pickup truck and hit my windshield dead center. I never saw it, but it sounded like a boulder hit my car. I was tempted to call 911 on the truck, but I figured it wasn't quite 911 worthy and that they'd never find the truck before he got off the road. Fortunately the damage was patchable, but I get the feeling that it could have taken out the entire windshield if it had hit just right. There is a cul-de-sac right next to my house that has almost an identical name and uses the same numbers as my street. So if my address is 123 Shrader Lane, the first house in there is 123 Shrader Road. They change the mailman on my route a lot, so on almost a monthly basis, I start getting mail for that other house. I don't blame the mailman on this as the names are so similar and you're bound to miss those things on your first couple days. I just have no idea why when naming the streets and numbering the houses they decided to use the same exact number for two houses maybe 100 yards away from each other.
  19. They should pick the host for obvious reasons but then hold off until the offseason on picking their opponent. That way, if a team like St. Louis wins the cup, they're suddenly an attactive team for the tv audience. Or they could throw in whichever team lands McDavid and market him to the big audience. I don't know if this works given when they finalize the full schedule, but you'd think they could at least consider it.
  20. Why on earth would Edmonton even consider that? Toronto would have to be the one trading away McDavid in order to move the ridiculous contracts of Kessel and Phaneuf.
  21. So when exactly was Dale Hawerchuk billed as the next Gretzky? He's two years younger. Hyperbole is pretty fun though.
  22. That generally is their approach over there isn't it? Except for Wyshoweveryouspellhisname, I can't remember seeing anything with remotely any value there.
  23. I like the logic that we don't deserve to get an NHL "prodigy" because we had one who retired almost 30 years ago. Yeah, we're really spoiled in that department.
  24. When my niece was born 2 years ago, they were all settled on an A name for her. Late in the pregnancy, a death in the family locked in the middle initial of S for the girl. So they knew right away that they had to change the first name or else she'd be stuck with the initials ASS.
  25. That and the LaFontaine pass are actually the first things that come to mind when I hear the "May Day" call.... Ok, me attempting to subtly taunt Ray Bourque in a bar back in 2006 also jumps into my mind right away too.
