  1. I think you'd be kissing Kane goodbye in a few years if you committed to that deal though. He'll be up for too much of a raise once his deal is done. Now, I'd gladly swap him out of our lineup for Stamkos, but I have a very hard time ever seeing the two of them on the same roster for more than 1-2 years.
  2. I still can't get over the fact that Lidstrom never won a Norris until he was 31 years old... and then wound up with 7 of them. If that's the comparison we really want to run with, we still have 10 years to wait.
  3. I'd love to know why Hanna Barbera felt the need to add their own characters into those shows. Anyway, you want to talk strange, apparently DC actually added them into their comics in the 90s. Why on earth did they decide to bring them back all those years later? They should have left them in the dumpster where they belonged.
  4. I wish there was something special or groundbreaking to the way our search went, but there wasn't. We had bounced from open house to open house back when we were in Boston, just getting a feel for a housing search. After we moved to NC, it was obviously a very different market and we were lucky to have deeper wallets as well. We had a basic idea on a timeframe for when we wanted to buy. We started looking at new construction first, bouncing from neighborhood to neighborhood. After living in a few apartments with serious needs of renovation and maintenance, this was an appealing option, and obviously if we were going to go that route, we would need to start looking early. Typically we'd either find a house we liked, but the neighborhood and plots of lands were lacking, or the other way around. It started to seem a bit iffy, in order to find the right combination you'd either have to sacrifice price or commute distance (pretty standard I'm sure). One day just for the experience, we looked at a new development in my brother's neighborhood. He lives way too far away from our jobs, but if nothing else, it was more experience checking out homes. Later that week, we got a call from that company talking about a new development they were starting that was right near the border of how far we were willing to go. I actually told my wife to not bother calling back because we weren't crazy about what we saw at their first one. But we were out looking one weekend, so we figured we might as well. Thank god for that as it had just about everything we wanted, much better models than the other development, and a great price point. So of course that's where we wound up. It's funny to think about how close we were to not even looking. Blah blah blah. Long story short, even if you're not going to be serious for a while, start looking as soon as possible. It's a great experience and you'll find yourself so much better prepared at that moment where you are serious. You will also get a much better feel for what each of you wants in a house. As it turned out, my wife and I were much closer to the same page than I ever would have thought.
  5. It has to be. He needs to clear waivers to be sent down otherwise.
  6. I don't think it's a major issue here, but I can't help but think of two words we hear all too often... contract year. I do think what we are seeing is the positive growth of a very young defenseman, but that thought is always going to be in the back of my mind.
  7. It begins and ends with the Bumble. All other characters are pointless.
  8. Oh, you said Superman Returns. I should read better, thought you were talking about Man of Steel. Now your post makes a ton of sense. Sorry about that.
  9. I somehow missed tBJ's post but I couldn't agree more. I've been calling for that for years. The rate of players lobbying for penalties is off the charts. I'd love for it to be an automatic flag. And yes, it doesn't get much worse than Brady. He's in their ear if someone comes within even 3 feet of him.
  10. Rudolph
  11. Becoming? They have been for years.
  12. Didn't try anything new? The whole story of Clark's youth and struggling with his powers was very new, at least to any mainstream imaging of superman. I have no idea if they ever did anything like that in the comics.
  13. I just wonder if Ra's al Ghul's name ever pops up in a puppet master pulling the strings kind of way. That one actually makes a ton of sense given that he's like 500 years old. Actually bringing him onto the show wouldn't make much sense, but a few subtle hints towards his existence would be cool.
  14. Everything I've ever heard makes it sound like the Islanders want defense in return though. So Edmonton really has little chance there.
  15. There's no need to explain it. The title screen was as blatant a reference as possible. It can just be about him suddenly showing up though, it doesn't necessarily mean it's all him the rest of the way. I'm not so sure they can go with just him for the rest of the season.
  16. There are also so many scenarios now where they will make a call to keep a play going, knowing that replay will sort it out after. There are essentially no repercussions for making a bad call.
  17. Yeah, the name dropped villain probably comes in for season 3, but I wouldn't base that solely on the title screen. That was an obvious move given the last scene. I'm still holding out hope that the other villain becomes much bigger. I think there's more to work with there. Also, my big question right now is how exactly they redeem Barbara enough to have Gordon name his daughter after her. I'd imagine some sort of self-sacrifice, but it's going to take a lot to make that happen.
  18. Or we are last year's anti-Calgary.
  19. They certainly need to do something because the complaints have been far too numerous this year. There truly is a third team on the field now, playing a role in the game's result.
  20. I enjoy it, but they're rushing some of these villains a bit though, especially last night's reveal. They're at least ten years away from Batman, some of these guys should not be active yet. Young Penguin and Nygma, that's fine, but it feels way too early for where the next half of the season is going. That said, I wonder which of the two villains revealed last night will play the bigger role moving forward. As a Batman junkie, I do absolutely hate that they have killed off already.
  21. Are you suggesting North Buffalo skins him and wears it as a suit Buffalo Bob style?
  22. I just wonder how much they use the other superheros that have been talked about. I wish they were simply just background or maybe presented at the end, but it sounds like Wonder Woman will have a bit more to her role. I worry about overload from these characters, especially since they have zero development. At least with Batman, even though this is a new version, he's VERY familiar to all. Oh, and I hope Bats has a Sherlock Holmes hat and glasses to go along with that trench coat. He needs to live up to that detective label.
  23. I hope they convert him to D too.
  24. Sending out a guy to start against his former team. Didn't Rex get crucified for doing something similar? Sorry, wrong thread.
  25. It would be exactly the Edmonton dilemma, except that we actually have a should be stud defenseman in place. I think you would have to move one of them for D though. If you find your self in a place with two horses on the blue line, you are an instant contender.
