I'm at the "better safe than sorry" stage in my life. I've seen too much crap go down in the last couple years to not keep on top of everything. I'm working at a hospital anyway, so it's not like it's an inconvenience to head in for the checkup. I could see staying away if that wasn't the case though. This odd blood draw experience may mess with that a bit though. I'm sure it'll be in my head next time. It definitely was this morning.

It wouldn't even necessarily have to be the bad contract, but they're definitely going to wind up with at least one of those guys from around the league. It could instead be that guy team A wants them to take instead of another unprotected player. Either way, I could see some free agent rights being involved in these trades. They get moved each year anyway, so why not add in another option for potential Vegas moves.

Some guys definitely can honorable enough to stick to that pre-arranged deal after waiting it out. We had it so recently with Anitpin. It obviously depends on the person and the team will have to know who they're dealing with, but I'm willing to bet that there will be at least one case of this happening, they agree with a guy but then wait to sign him. The sad part is that we'll never see any proof of that though.

I'm a complete homer and given our potential dearth of future goalie options, I wish they could find a way to add Oettinger. Unfortunately I think that would take a bit of maneuvering to happen.

I think you figured it out, but it's the exact opposite. I return to Sabrespace, my stress level rises, and I'm a complete wreck. I'll have to ask them how to diagnose that.

That's a trade angle that really hasn't been mentioned much. I could see Vegas being interested in taking on one of the pending free agents like Kulikov in exchange for picking a guy like Moulson. I don't mean to suggest that as the entire trade, but they could take Moulson, and in exchange receive a pick and the rights to Kulikov. Insert any team and any bad contract/pending free agent combo you'd like. Vegas gets their pick and also an extended window to talk with that player.

I'd imagine the whole thing gets taken care of before it can ever get to arbitration. I can't imagine how awkward that would wind up being with everyone on both sides being so new, both the GM and the player being on a new team. He has to feel wanted after a trade and they obviously want him as well. I imagine it gets worked through pretty quickly. Maybe he files, but he never actually gets to a hearing. As for an actual dollar amount, I have no clue.

All of a sudden I'm someone who has trouble with getting blood drawn. I've never had any issues until thursday. They could find any good veins, then I got really warm and they told me I looked like I was about to pass out. After the long delay, I decided to just come back another day because at that point it was in my head. Today was the second attempt. They had trouble finding a vein again. That warm feeling came back, but not as badly and eventually they did get the blood. I don't get it. Just about the only thing that bugs me from the whole process is sitting and waiting, but it was never an issue until just now.

Forget the pronunciation. I think this will be the first Sabre where we'll all have to forgive the thousands of spelling errors we are about to see.

There's nothI got that requires them to take three. There will be free agent options as well where they can fill up their ranks in the net.

These Miller comparisons need to stop. Miller was one of the greatest goalies in college hockey history. Petersen may not have even been the best goalie in hockey east. Their only similarity is that they were drafted by the same team in the same round. Let's be honest, that's exactly why people keep mentioning it.

Our last former Sabre defenseman turned first time head coach worked out fairly well. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Phil will either flop or work out. That's one hell of a risky prediction, I know.

They're wearing them essentially as a thank you to their host. It's pretty obvious what they're going for and they translated those jerseys over to hockey just about identically. I have absolutely no issue with these jerseys. They are what they are. It's too bad Canada can't troll us and find a way to go with patriot or dolphin themed jerseys.

I just got a call on my office phone from a recruiter looking for people in my line of work. I get emails all the time and the occasional phone call, but never on my office phone. I'm lucky if I make even one call a month from that number and I never give it out. I'd love to know how these people got a hold of it and know exactly who I am. They are local, so I guess it's possible that someone might have access to our contact directory.

The numbers aren't the least bit comparable, but a college goalie I see Petersen having a similar ceiling to is Scott Darling. It's tough to read too much into his college numbers though because those were some truly awful Maine teams.

Ahhh Drew Stafford. I miss the old argument made against him on here where it was stated that he doesn't score goals in games where he doesn't score goals. That was truly some ground breaking stuff.

Buffalo's giving up way too much for that to be a wookie offer. They won't leak it to the public, but they'll take to each other privately. So the press might not know it if Daly's order is followed, but the teams will.

For a second there after reading the first 6 words, I thought a Subban "rumor" had no been magically created.

Even if not leaked to the public, I'm sure most of the GMs will be well aware of most of it.

At least they're not adding an H into that word like people like to do sometimes with "wooooooo". "Whooooooooo" is a question and not something Ric Flair would yell out. I enjoyed it, but I wish it hadn't got so much hype (there's that word again, used properly though). For me personally, the bar was set way too high after hearing those initial reactions.
