I'm still leaning towards a goose-based conspiracy. I'm with anyone who is on the opposing side to those evil birds. And speaking of conspiracies, this practice of adding "gate" onto the end of anything when naming a conspiracy/scandal needs to end. Wouldn't that make the original Watergategate? No, you've got it just about right there with the time frame. Souring on the league as a whole also goes a long way towards not getting miserable because of how the season goes. And of all those guys, up until now, the only one I've ever heard given the "generational" label is McDavid. I don't remember ever seeing that word thrown around until the lead up to the McDavid draft. It seems to be an invention of the last 5 years or so. It was never said about any of the players you mentioned while they were on the ice and it was never used in the lead up for draft picks like Lindros or Crosby (I'm sure I'm missing one or two insanely hyped #1 picks in between those 2).

I went back and looked for it. Apparently it was your wife that was DVRing it. But it's still your DVR, so I'm going to go ahead and assume you're 85. But wait, can an 85 year old program a DVR?
