  1. Very. Pat's the boss. I like it. + Dustin Brown please. Steven Page?
  2. No idea. I'll go with Varone. He seems like a playa.
  3. Yeah I don't get it either. I assume the Amerks attendance is a Hockey Heaven perk? Per Stacy Pensgen's twitter (ROC weather betty) looks like wives / girlfriends went too.
  4. Did anyone else watching the MSG feed last night on Time Warner Rochester have audio issues? Every 45-200 seconds it would cut out then immediately back on.
  5. Same. I see effort. With a few exceptions (leino, myers) its a talent/youth issue. Hopefully Nolan can squeeze a little more out of them for entertainment's sake, but not too much, the current path to the #1 pick would be best.
  6. This is going to be so good. My understanding of youth hockey right now in western NY is that it's really fractured. Too many options for AAA instead of one clear choice that is often affiliated with the local pro team. Some of the the best Roc kids have typically drifted east to Syr to play with the Nationals. Now western NY will have one well funded and stable team to represent. See: http://myhockeyrankings.com/rank.php?y=2013&a=2&v=113 Buffalo will be at the top of that list for Squirt and PeeWee in a few years I bet. Currently the best PeeWee minor team for Buffalo is the Regals at #36 and best Rochester is Grizzlies at #38. Syracuse #3!

    KALETA

3 for Elder is nuts. Looked like a good clean hit that the kid didn't absorb well. If he doesn't score 4 the other night is it the same? Kaleta, eh, hard to tell from the one angle I saw, but if he threw a deliberate elbow to the head he's an idiot and I'd like to change my vote.
  8. Speaking of NHL & bikes, Eric Weinrich gave a friend of a friend a run for his money at a bike race this past weekend in Central NY. I hear he's pretty strong. "Some former NHL player..???...couldn't drop him!!!"
  9. Big test. MacIntyre vs Leggio. And the five games series are always nervous especially as the lower seed. Avatar wasn't in the line-up Friday...wonder if he's a healthy scratch or what...
  10. http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/21680-all-about-ron-rolston-as-interim-head-coach-of-the-buffalo-sabres-on-hot-seat/page__st__80?do=findComment&comment=456353 "...said most players in Rochester didn't respect him, including Luke Adam. He said RR and Adam went at it many times, yet Adam's ice time was always high"
  11. What about Biega? I'm not sure about call-up rules but figure if there's an injury you get an exception. If I'm him I'm pissed.
  12. DR should call up McCardle and Cotton-Eye-Curt from the Roc. Show 'em whats up.
  13. If Ott goes all "us against the world" "no one believes in us, let's show 'em boys" next, I'm gonna puke. This season can't end soon enough.
  14. Firmer handshake next time Thomas!
  15. TP can't go to an Amerks game on the night of a Sabres game? Maybe he had business in Roc? Met w/ the city? Who knows. Nice gesture, that's all. Anyways, LE's goalie stood on his head to get the W. Larsson is kinda small but thick, looks a little bigger than Varone but not skinny like Ennis. Tarnasky was fired up and throwing the body around, boss of the ice last night, good stuff.
  16. I agree don't push it. Play limited minutes with Amerks for a couple weeks first. I wonder if the NHL is measurably more physical than the AHL? Small ice in ROC, more grinders, less skill, etc.
  17. I like these signings. Flynn like. Late-bloomers maybe. Superstars probably not, but good supporting cast for the teenager blue-chips.
  18. They are? Ellis, Rismiller, Adam, Tarnasky, McCormick, Mancari, Pardy. Healthy scratching a Vet every night. Maybe light on D w/ Brennan trade and McNabb injury. Team seems to be in good shape for a run, especially if we get guys back (Porter, Flynn, Pysyk, Foligno). Oh and now add Tropp. 6-3-1 over the past 10. Firmly in playoff position. I'll go ahead and say they should be considered a contender Edit - forgot Varone was injured and Rismiller's try-out is over? Still, they look good!
  19. Bump Rob Sanderson ‏@DropThePuckWHTK3m BREAKING NEWS: Corey Tropp @CTropp25 returns to #Amerks lineup tonight. Suffered thought to be season-ending knee injury Oct. 12th. #Sabres
  20. Me too. Sekera got healthy though. Take Leo or TM out? Turnover on the Amerks blue line this year: Finley gone, Brennan gone, McNabb out for 4 weeks, Pysyk up. Biega remains the rock. Pardy has been a big help too.
  21. I agree that Miller isn't one of the big on-ice probs, but at $6m per, his stats, and that he's sometimes called the real "C" of this group, I'd accept the risk that comes with a change there.
  22. Not saying he's looked that great, but Colorado had him up most of the past 2 years. Nice depth add by DR from my view.
  23. A what? Haha. Yup. But if there's a Ott/Leino coup against Pommers (humor me) this knocks it back a step.
