  1. Connor Knapp at Greenville 6 GP, 2 - 4, 91.3%, 17 ga
  2. WELL IT MUST HAVE BEEN DECAF?!?! Caffeine is a proven performance enhancer. Redbull during intermission next time, get with it Corsi. Seriously though I appreciate the candor but you'd hope a pro would handle it differently ie: Scary Gary Camp / Hodgson / Briere doing cross-fit before it was called cross-fit. Ok to make mistakes, but not to dismiss them.
  3. FWIW - the latest research on cramping is that it's less a hydration issue and more neuro-muscular, ie overload issue. The muscle is not conditioned to the amount of work it's being asked to do. Hockey Heaven should know this. Brennan - ugh, it's fun to watch him play in the AHL. Would have been nice if could execute at the same level in NHL. Flynn - yeah! I don't like Scott in the lineup, but am happy to see Flynn and Porter over Hecht.
  4. Hope so. He's been the rock this year from my view. Known quantity, consistent play.
  5. Yes, but not Adam. And I'd swap Biega for Pysyk for now. Go RR!
  6. Yup. It looks like a dive that went awry to me. 2 minutes Kaleta - hitting from behind (shoving, pushing a little bit really) 2 minutes Richards - diving Would never happen, but if roles were reversed it might.
  7. All things equal, Foligno is the safe path for the new coach too. (rookie vs veteran, knows his personality/buttons/etc from last year). As for Hecht and his +1, I read some criticism/analysis of Lindy's style the other day saying he was still trying to match #1 line vs #1 line, rather than checking line/d-specialist vs #1.

    Waive Hecht

Yes I can! It's bad. His game is currently of the squirrel/nut variety. Picture blind passes in the offensive zone that connect 1 of 10 times for a spectacular scoring chance. The other 9 times, turnover. It would have to be Ellis over Hecht. There at least you have a guy selling out, even if it's a notch lower on the skill level scale.

When the coach and "leaders" are asking for everyone to contribute 100% "look in the mirror" "ask yourself" blah blah blah, and he dumps the puck to avoid physical play, it's game over. The negative impact that has on the team can't be dismissed. Does he get an exception because he's a vet with an injury history? How would his teammates react if he actually drove to the net and sold out to try and score? "F YEAH YOYO LET"S GO" Instead it's "yoyo took the easy way out...he's a vet putting food of his family's table, maybe I'll try that too". Maybe Ott will have the balls to challenge him next time he does that. Because we all know Pommers doesn't. As for Amerks, Porter for one, glad they brought him up. Varone is a stretch. Tarnasky maybe. I don't know, I just want someone who doesn't appear to be going through the motions (sure, arguably effectively, since he's a +1).
  10. +1 for Great Lakes Brewing. Cool neighborhood too.

Big deal he's a plus 1. He is part of the old sabres that needs to go. He doesn't initiate any physical play. He's the perfect player for Pommers to captain, boring as hell and no jam.
  12. I think he said he worked on his play in tight space during the off season. At the start of the year in ROC it was noticeable and effective. Agreed it's not carrying over to NHL yet, but like that he's working on improving his weaknesses and also that he continues to go the net with the puck.
  13. .Love it. Get him on the ice so he can back it up.
  14. I think this past Friday was the first time I ever saw him get fired up behind the bench (at refs). I'm not qualified to analyze his system, but from an entertainment perspective he has been boring. Maybe given the higher stakes he'll be more demonstrative, but I don't expect it. Of course standing there silently and leading them to cup works for me too.
  15. Bittersweet. FWIW, Rolston shows no emotion behind the bench. Kinda boring. Obviously that doesn't reflect on his ability to coach but it is entertainment after all.
  16. Haha me too (next week, missing tonight).
  17. I think I read there's a limit to vets and they are at it? Not sure though. Interesting.
  18. Yup and now add Ellis to that list. Last night was Ellis, Adam, Porter, Varone. Solid line-up! Adam actually got a roughing penalty, off-setting, questionable call, but good to see.
  19. Bucky did a good job here with Ted Black. Hard to be full-on tool when your subject is sitting next to you. Setup is a little odd, why not face to face instead of awkward side by side? Camera angle I suppose. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sully_on_sports/2013/02/video-bucky-sully-show-by-segment-including-interviews-with-black-dupont.html As for Black's comments...eh...what you would expect. I did like the reference to the new Publisher coming in last year..."...did he clean house?".
  20. Cut him some slack! Ho-hum Pommers is on that line too, I'd do that deal straight up (p for o). Give the C to Vanek, then Foligno next year, turn the damn page.
  21. And then there's this. Good blog. - Speaking of that great last season you had, can we talk about the last six games of the year? You know, the ones that were the crunch-time games, the ones that would determine if the Avs made the playoffs or not, the ones where the really great players are supposed to rise to the occasion? Your stats for the final six games: Zero goals, one assist, -2. Over the final 18 games, you scored two goals for us.
  22. Impressive. Top 10 takeaways 2011-12: O’Reilly, COL 101 Tavares, NYI 99 Datsyuk, DET 97 Thornton, SJS 96 Grabner, NYI 94 Hossa, CHI 94 Toews, CHI 82 Kane, CHI 77 Kopitar, LAK 76 Pavelski, SJS 73
  23. Not yet. Maybe this weekend. Send them Pommers and Tropp. Pommers is a nice player. I don't want a nice player captaining my team.
