  1. Yup, he won a couple of important d-zone face offs in the 3rd. And TN seemed to give the 4th line more ice after the goal. I think he's here for the season and they are just going to build him in slowly. 2nd line by Dec.
  2. And the Lightning drafted........... ..... ..... ..... Vincent Lecavalier with the #1 pick in '98. ..... And went on to win the Stanley Cup 5 years later. ..... Whatever. Interesting stuff jwhit. Welcome & thanks.
  3. Solid 4-1 win for Amerks tonight. Grigs, Armia both with a goal & assist. Grigs #1 star. His goal was a true skill goal, sick shot from the slot, so fast. Larsson looked good w/ maintaining possession and winning battles. Sundher looked quick and good energy too. Luke Adam still appears to be Luke Adam  . Pysyk looked very good, probably the best player on the ice. Calm, smooth, no problem man. Seems like Bagnall is carrying a ton on his shoulders w/ the C AND the enforcer role. Respect. McCabe looked pretty good. Makarov was solid too. Then there's Ron Rolston sitting in our relatively empty section with his laptop fired up (along with about 5 other scouts all spread out), I said hello, he seems like a good dude, he said empathetically "yeah...it's gonna be a while" in response to my frustration with 1 goal in 4 games. Fun night.
  4. I just noticed the world series is only 9 days long if 7 games. Is it always that short? NHL would turn that into at least 10, but probably 14 days. Interesting.
  5. I liked the statement from him at the end of the game though. Apparently he and Backes have a thing going.
  6. Yeah I noticed that too. Impressive. OT, but they are very good at marketing, written up in a trade pub this week. Stanley gets an assist there though.
  7. Good write-up on McNabb from Kings website http://lakingsinsider.com/2014/10/22/evolving-usage-for-mcnabb-who-faces-his-former-team/
  8. More suckiness, this time from the Sabres site: Although the team has been shut out in back-to-back games, Nolan has decided to let these combinations continue to work through it. Buffalo has never been shut out in three-straight games.
  9. Shocker stat from Schopp twitter this AM: 1 regulation win in last 26. Wow. Just wow. And I think it's only 3 wins of 26 counting OT/SO. Suffering.

    Zadorov?

I've only seen him play a couple of times but he mostly impressed me as a little slow and struggling to consistently get into position in battles behind the net and in corners. He didn't look ready like Risto does.
  11. Yup, Yup, take a bow Sizzle, I'm still laughing this morning.
  12. Agreed. I saw plenty of try-hard during Rolston's run. They lost big to Chicago and Anaheim, two cup favorites, no shocker. Yeah, ok, it was uglier than expected, but what is most shocking is Nolan going nuclear with his comments after game 3 of 82. Good luck to Gionta. He looks weak on the ice, but I think he's gonna earn his cash dealing with the locker room & TN this year.
  13. A total of 4 goals in 4 games for the mighty Bruins, 1 - 3.
  14. My happy haze of new-season fan hope is clearing quickly with last night's showing and polls like this. Oooff. Hodgson for points. Moulson for goals.
  15. From CBJ site (weds lines) Hartnell-Anisimov-Dano Foligno-Johansen-Atkinson Calvert-Letestu-Wennberg Skille-Chaput-Boll/Tropp Johnson-Savard Erixon-Wisniewski Tyutin-Prout Bobrovsky Good to see my man Tropp'r hanging on. Break-out year coming, just needs the ice time. :P
  16. Feels much better than Craig Rivet. I was pulling for Callahan over Gionta for the warm fuzzy local connection / insta-C. Now that the season is here, I think they got it right.
  17. Oh the child. I think about the child. His life only just begun. The innocence and promise of a new born babe. He's gonna have some good times w/ 'ol Pops!
  18. True on Enroth stats wise but he didn't look great to me. He got a couple of breaks. Razor was on him in the telecast. That nice save he had w/ the guy all alone in front (in the 2nd?) it looked like he even stumbled before he made it. Hydration issues? Noticed I didn't notice 28 as well. Hopefully it is maturity. Would be nice to see some offensive created by him tho....I know, he's not a 25 goal scorer, but maybe 15? Flashback to Foligno's sophomore slump that hopefully he's finally done with. Can't wait for the season to start.
  19. This looks like a good team. Finally the reset (gm, coaches, core) we've wanted for a while. Playoffs this year! Will re-evaluate after 20 games.
  20. It's good enough for me. Receiving that pass from Hodgson and what appeared to be effortlessly burying it required talent very few have. And we desperately need scoring. He got the message. Put him on the roster. The minute he stops working hard, send to ROC.
