  1. I grew up eating cottage cheese with potato chips. My Dad and Grandpa have always used it as a chip dip.
  2. The problem with the Canes D IMO, is that they have too many guys who think "offense first" and not enough grit back there. They lost Allen, which leaves them with only Gleason and Harrison as physical, defensively responsible blueliners. Replacing Allen with Corvo brings more offense, but combine that with Pitkanen (who has routine mental lapses in his own zone) and McBain who had an up and down season, and you don't have much. Spacek still has one year left on his deal, but doesn't have much in the tank. Justin Faulk should have a great year, but they've really lost defensive stability on the blue line. Unless Cam Ward has an unbelieveable season I can't see them going far.
  3. Similar thing happened to me, but it was an old Christian Ruuttu gamer I had.
  4. True, which is why I've always respected him... up until some of his antics in the KHL last year.
  5. Tarnasty was ok in Tampa. He is a decent fighter, not somone who can take on a heavyweight, but someone who will stickup for teammates, etc. I doubt he steps foot in Buffalo unless Scott goes on IR. My only beef with Tarnasky in Tampa was when he tried to prove he could play and quit fighting. He can't play. I did lose a bit of respect for him last season in the KHL. Some of his "fights" are like something out of SlapShot, jumping guys who have no intention of fighting back just for the hell of it.
  6. Barring any moves, he has a decent shot of making the Canes. Despite the signing of Corvo, they need an offensive d-man, and it's between him and Bob Sanguinetti, who had a great year in Charlotte. One will probably make the Canes with the other coming back to Charlotte. It'd actually be kinda fun to watch both of them in Charlotte, as the rest of the Canes defense prospects are stay-at-home types.
  7. Yeah, but maybe he's a Ted's addict, and loves going to the one in Tempe, so Buffalo would be a natural fit.
  8. Tootoo's been sober for a few years now, so I doubt that has to do with it. Seems like purely a numbers issue in Nashville. I'd like to see him on the wing opposite Kaleta. Throw McCormick between them, and now that'd be an intense checking line.
  9. Yeah, I've been there before. It's not far from my Dad's house, but a good 30 minute drive from where I'm at.
  10. YES!!!!!!!!!! No more having to buy them online and have them shipped!!!!!!!!!!
  11. In: Grigorenko, Parenteau Out: Hecht, Boyes, Sekera Yup.... don't see much going on this summer....
  12. Haven't thought that far ahead just yet. With the thousands of $$ I've had to pay my lawyer, that's his job....
  13. I alluded to this in a previous complaint, but now I need to complain even more. I've had temporary full custody of my three year old son for 3 weeks now, with a hearing scheduled for next Tuesday. His mom (my soon-to-be ex-wife) and her live-in fiancee are being investigated by DSS for child abuse. Both the investigator and his pediatrician are ready to claim it's abuse, and not "slide related bruises" as mom/bf claim (my son, in detail, has explained what happened to 4 different people, saying he was punched repeatedly by the bf). So DSS turns it over to the police two weeks ago, and the detective has yet to act on it. When I told the DSS guy on Tuesday, we was very upset, because he "gift wrapped" this for the detective, and said he wished the detective would "get off his duff and get to work." The DSS investigation is supposed to be over, with the results released, tomorrow, just in time for court. But since the police haven't done anything, we have to wait until they finish their investigation, dragging this whole thing on even longer. Now I have to try for a continuance of custody on Tuesday, instead of just permanent full custody. Needless to say this has flipped my world upside down, but my boy is doing awesome. He's never been better at daycare, and his teacher will be testifying on my behalf saying that the angry, emotional behaviors he used to exhibit on days when his mom would pick him up have disappeared.
  14. Foligno was definitely a highlight, but this was one of my favorites as well....
  15. Sigh... time to complain about even more drama in my life. Once again involving the soon-to-be-ex-wife, her fiancee, and my son. All I'll say is that I have temporary custody, a hearing on June 26th for permanent custody, a mountain of legal bills, and more stress than ever before. On the bright side, my boy is safe and doing great with daddy. Hopefully it stays that way.
  16. Tried to sign up with twinspires.com, but they said they aren't accepting applications from my state (NC).
  17. I've never bet on the Derby before, but wouldn't mind making a small wager this year. Pardon the ignorance, but where can you do it? I'm unaware of any OTBs or Sports Books in my area. Are there any reputable websites that can be recommended?
  18. HA! They're playing here in Charlotte as well, and Cracker is the only reason I'm going.
  19. As always I've taken a half day today so I can run home and watch the Cubs opener. My complaint is that I'm a Cubs fan and once again they'll suck.
  20. I've done it both ways. Just depends if I'm at work or not ;) Another option is making baked spaghetti/spaghetti pie with the leftovers if you have a lot. I've done that quite a few times as well.
  21. Grabbed a copy of "Devil in the White City" per a number of suggestions, and am currently half way through. Very good! Originally being from Chicago, I find it especially interesting. I'm sure I'll finish it during my flight home on Friday.
  22. Sick with bronchitis, and leaving for a business trip to Japan at 6 am tomorrow. Ugh.
