Brian Campbell's hit on Umberger was a "harder" hit. Gryba stuck out his hip and caught Eller in the groin region, which lifted him off of his skates and spun him, smacking the ice face first. The actual physical contact was minimal, but Eller's head wasn't targeted. Did it make contact with Gryba's shoulder? Of course it did, but it wasn't targeted or the main point of contact. Gryba didn't even deserve the major for interference, let alone a suspension. The league will talk to him and maybe fine him, but it's undeserved.

While I was enjoying a quiet day the office, one of our interns (who sits near the front door) runs back to inform us that there's a guy beating up a woman outside of the office next door (a dentist's office). One of my co-workers springs into action and goes to find out what's going on, and barges into the dentist's office. The guy and girl are sitting in there, having just punched each other multiple times. I call 911 (turns out the dentist office had already called), and then hear through the wall all kinds of fighting, in which my co-worker, along with a guy from another neighboring office, physically pull the guy off the girl. The guy then grabs her keys and runs out the door, stealing her car, so I gave the car's specs and tag number to 911. The dentist's office is demolished - broken furniture, blood on the door and wall, etc. And then it takes the cops over 10 minutes to show up.

That's where I'm at too. I don't pay extra for more than 500 MB, and I went over pretty quick this month, but to be honest I haven't noticed a huge drop in speed, even though it is downgraded to 2G. Then again, pretty much everywhere I go I use wi-fi (home, work, family's house, etc).

I had Verizon for 10 years and just switched to TMobile two months ago. I've been real happy with the service, and it's a good deal if you add additional lines. I pay $104 a month for my fiancee and I, and we have unlimited text/talk plus 500 MB data, and that includes the monthly charges for phones. We were paying $150 for similar with Verizon. Will soon be adding my Dad and stepmom as well, as they'll be switching from Sprint. The 3rd-5th lines only cost $20/mo each (plus phone charges). I've been real happy.

No NHL potential whatsoever, unless he somehow reinvents himself as a grinder that's not afraid to drop the gloves (based on genetics, I doubt that will happen). During the lockout, he couldn't crack the Checkers lineup, and was a healthy scratch for the first 23 games of the season until injuries hit and he found a place in the lineup. I will say this, he has improved his game a lot over the past few years, but he was a mediocre ECHL player just two years ago. Right now he's a 3rd line AHL player who gets some PK time. This is purely a "feel good story" to try and fabreeze the Hurricanes' crap scented stain of a season, and maybe try to butter up Marc Staal to want join his brothers one day

Having watched Jared play here in Charlotte this year he is totally unworthy of the call up. It's for a "family moment" and nothing more than that. Carolina sent down the two best players remaining on their roster that are eligible for the AHL playoffs (Nash & Wallace), and needed another body for the Rangers game. Enter Jared Staal, who likely will be a healthy scratch once he's returned to Charlotte for the playoffs.

Despite the fans' wishes, I think DR is here to stay for a little while longer. Miller will be moved at some point before the season starts. Not sure where he'll go, but I think he'll be dealt. Vanek will start the season in Buffalo, but if they start out bad, he'll be gone too before Christmas.
