  1. I'm not sure what that means. He usually uses a disappointed-sounding "and they score," but he does describe it before and and after.
  2. There are other pics (ex1, ex2) that together looked very similar (to me, anyway.) Side-by-side, the shapes of their faces are the same. Saw him is a (really dumb) movie and instantly thought that he looked like Sam.
  3. Didn't think this was new thread worthy, but I came across a Sam Reinhart doppelganger: Actor, Tanner Kalina
  4. I'd say that it makes him less valuable to a team that is rebuilding, as they would be looking for someone to help them going forward, rather than just a rental. However, to many teams looking just for a rental, it might make him more valuable than if he had years left. It all comes down to what the team wants the player for. The Rangers, as sellers, are not going to be looking for rentals. They will want what we want: picks, prospects and/or young players in the league. Kane is not really any of those.
  5. Whoever first coined that cliché clearly didn't understand statistics. It basically says that your population parameters are what your sample statistics (estimates) say they are, which is simply not true (possible, yes, but almost never actually true.) I will grant you that the more games played, the less likely it is that you are substantially different than what your record says you are.
  6. I remember thinking it was a clear tip in the review last night, but I just watched the highlights on YouTube and I think you might be right.
  7. Went off Risto's blade, which drops that chance a bit ... still should have had it.
  8. Especially when he threw for 505 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a passer rating of 115.4!
  9. If I may interject a little logic on the "bump snub" after the goal ... Okposo made that play happen (Sam touched it, but the play was made by Kyle.) After O'Reilly scores, it looks like he's facing Jack, but from the opposite view, you see that he's actually looking down and fixing his helmet. He lifts his head and raises his eyes when he's close to Jack, but able to see Kyle skating over to him. So, he turns to fist bump the guy who setup the play. Maybe there's more two it, but it's not too dissimilar to a guy scoring with teammates around him, yet turning to give the guy on the other side of the ice, who set up his goal, the finger point "you!"
  10. As much as I dislike the Pats, people aren't watching the video around that pic very closely. There are Jaguar players in the area and when Flemming goes to congratulate White, the official quickly goes after him to stop him from seemingly going after a Jags player. Once he gets Flemming, a very large guy, to turn out of the way and sees that he's actually just congratulating a teammate, the official laughs about it (when the screen captured was taken.) As the video continues, you see him backing away from Flemming and White with his hands out toward them, saying "OK, OK." The official wasn't celebrating with them, he was laughing at himself for seeing something that wasn't actually happening.
  11. Gotta disagree. May not be my favorite, but definitely better than several of the others.
  12. Or not ... :flirt:
  13. I was just about to say, "no, it's 4th, because there are only three lottery picks!" Completely forgot that there are 31 teams now.
  14. LTIR ... in Buffalo
  15. OK, now so fast ...
  16. Not so fast ...
  17. I was legitimately surprised that Kylo did not kill her, but that his wingmen actually did. It added to the internal struggle: "I want to kill her ... I can't kill her ... oh, they killed her ... how do I feel about that?" Then, they showed her floating body and zoomed in on her face. I thought, "They couldn't. They wouldn't. They did. Ugh." Coming so early in the movie really had me worried about the rest.
  18. Since nobody has posted in two weeks, I am going to assume that it is OK to post spoilers without hiding them. If that's not true, then don't read my post. *** Spoilers ahead *** I finally saw it yesterday. Overall, it wasn't bad or great, but had some of both. I definitely liked where Luke's character went. It wasn't totally unexpected, because of the trailers, but went further than I had thought it would. The Leia flying scene was s**t and the rest of the movie could have happened without it. Together, those two were part of the "expect the unexpected" theme that became clear. This included the death of Snoke (still hate the name), Rey's family background, etc. It was a bit much. I do wonder if some of those are not completely done, though. For example, Snoke connected Kylo Ren and Rey. He showed each of them things about the other that brought them together. Who's to say that he didn't manipulate parts of those. Perhaps, he made KR think that the truth behind Rey's family is that they were nobodies and Rey, being naive and impressionable at this point, believed it. Doesn't mean that they actually were. Of course, if that is the case, then how they play out the reveal could be good or terribly bad/cheesy. Still, something to watch for ... After two movies, I just don't feel as connected to Poe's character, as (say) Han's character in the original. I do wanted to see it again before I do render my final judgement, as I liked TFA more after a few viewings. The cruise-to-lightspeed-fleet-slice maneuver was visually powerful. Obviously, you wouldn't want to suicide your own big, expensive cruisers doing that too often, but it does seem like they could take a cheaper bulk freighter and sacrifice it to take out one or more big baddie ships in the future.
  19. Personally, I don't give a f**k because: 1) It can't be undone, 2) The guy who made it isn't here anymore. It happened; they have who they have; we have who we have. Good or bad, Tim Murray isn't making another decision for the Sabres.
  20. That's not how it works. Sure, if there were only one other GM in the league, then that GM could negotiate with Bots' position of weakness in mind. However, since a GM has to compete with many of the other 29 GMs in the league, it won't matter what Bots' position is. If a GM lowballs him, then another will happily outbid him ... and another ... and so on ... until a "good" amount is offered. Supply and demand will dictate his price, not the Sabres' situation.
  21. Last week was as exciting as a playoff win, so I'm going to cling to that. Today was like ... https://youtu.be/ZBKDtca3A1c
  22. Two total first downs on four total possessions. Can you tell which side of the ball both teams are better on?
  23. With all of the USA WJ games going on, I've completely forgotten about the last two Sabres' games. In both cases, I've come on here and seen the GDT after the game is already over. Doesn't sound like I missed much. He's been listed anywhere from 3rd-7th in the rankings that I've seen, but it is quite possible that we will draft 5th. There's a very good chance that we end up in the 2nd-lowest spot, so three of the other 13 teams would have to pass us on the three draws. Rough guess (don't feel like calculating it): 1 in 4 chance that happens. If we do catch someone else (I don't see the Coyotes catching us), then the chance of drafting 5th goes up.
  24. Me, too. Fun place to visit every few years, but not someplace I want to associate with on a day-to-day basis. I made a list in another thread, but there are several states that are entirely closer to NYC than Buffalo, a bunch more that are mostly closer and a few more that are partially closer. So many cities are significantly closer.
