  1. Just think of all the yellow (or "Pittsburgh Gold") in a Preds-Penguins final!
  2. Yeah, I've been itching to post a certain Fred Thompson clip since the first period.
  3. These about cover it. A very good movie, blending comedy, action and emotion well. Hard to say if it was strictly better or worse than the original. I'll go with "on par" and point to drnkirishone's post. Side note: Definitely still a fan of big, cushy recliners. Sat perhaps one row too close, though. I like feeling immersed, but it was tough keeping focused, because everything was so spread out right in front of me.
  4. I woke up in my chair not long after that. Still 3-0, but with less than five minutes left. Brushed my teeth, took the dog out and moved a load of towels to the dryer. Went to turn the TV off, but it was 3-2 with less than 0:30 left, so I watched until the end of regulation. Epic comeback, but I can understand why Oilers' fans might be pissed. Kesler had his hand in the top of Talbot's right pad and didn't seem to try to hard to get it out. Not that I would have overturned the goal had I been the ref (Kesler was pushed down initially, his glove may have been stuck, etc), but Talbot clearly didn't have a chance to even try to make the save. At a different point in the game, that goal might have been negated.
  5. You could just have your backup GT be your shootout specialist. Although, I wouldn't want to be the coach telling Robin that he can't finish the game ...
  6. Well, one things is certain ... our podium word count just went up.
  7. May be a little sacrilegious, but I like a good BBQ chicken pizza, where the tomato sauce is replaced with BBQ sauce and the cheese may have some combination of cheddar. Just hold the onions on mine ... it's a texture thing.
  8. They should. If they do, it will only be for one game (no history, playoff game exchange rate, etc.) May just be a fine.
  9. A few thoughts: 1) Pan idea is interesting, but then you have to wash a pan. Mine goes on aluminum foil before it goes in the oven. Easy cleanup. 2) I'm concerned that the pan with lid will heat the cheese, but not get that slight browness that you get from actual flame. The 300F part of mine gives what I am concerned about, too, but the short 425F blast at the end takes care of it. 3) At the risk of derailing this thread ;) , putting American "cheese" on a grilled cheese is bush league. So many better choices. Good cheddar is a classic. I like colby, myself.
  10. If there's a Oilers-Leafs final, I'm cancelling my cable/internet and ripping out my car stereo. I'll just pretend like there was a 2017 lockout.
  11. My method: 8-10 minutes in the oven (not toaster) at 300F, then crank it up to 450F for about 3-4 minutes. The first step help heats the inside (top of crust, sauce and bottom of cheese) better before the second step really cooks the top of the cheese and the bottom of the crust. I find this combination results in the closest thing to first-day pizza. The thickness of the crust does factor in, of course. Thin-crust doesn't need the first step as much as thicker-crust pizza does.
  12. Yeah, they won that trade, but it's not the trade that matter2003 implied (Hodgson for Kassian):
  13. The MacArthur trade is also paying big dividends for the Senators. Man, Murray sucks.
  14. Yeah, like the Maple Leafs ... that would be awwwwwwwwwesome.
  15. I doubt that they could, even if they wanted to. Compensation for players is completely controlled within the CBA, including performance bonuses. They can't just give players more money when they want to.
  16. Very quick and dirty ...
  17. http://www.icethetics.co/concepts/2017/3/21/superb-sabres
  18. Come on, O'Reilly, get in front of the damn man. Don't give me this ole bulls**t.
  19. Who was our #1 center in 2006-07, Danny or Chris? If remember correctly, Chris got the matchups against other teams' #1 centers more often, but Danny led the team in EV TOI/GP and total TOI/GP. The pair were actually similar, in that Chris was better defensively and on faceoffs, so he averaged over 2 1/2 minutes more per game SH'd. However, to WildCard's point, Danny averaged more than that above Chris at EV, such that their total TOI/GP was close (Danny averaged about 1/2 minute more.)
  20. What makes him not #1? He plays with 2 out of 3 of our top wingers (KO, being the third) and leads forwards in EVTOI/GP and PPTOI/GP. The only thing the ROR has is a huge amount of time SH, which is due to his aforementioned defensive responsibility and faceoff ability.
  21. Hurricane-force winds at the airport. Had to make several unexpected detours going to pick my kid up from school, because there were trees across so many streets. We didn't lose power, but we did lose cable. Fortunately, we still have DSL (not sure why), so we can stream things. Had a big piece of a 100-year-old tree come down last summer, but fortunately no more of it came down yesterday. Did force the locked 8-foot gate on my wood fence open. Pulled a few screws and bent some brackets, so I could fix it pretty easily.
  22. Makes me think of this scene: https://youtu.be/omSZ7Y0AxNk Edit: except, apparently, DiMarco is the one FB who isn't actually a fat guy.
  23. Could have had Travis Konecny with that pick ... he had a goal and an assist for the Flyers last night.
