You just have to admire that shot.

If he's not, I would love to have a reporter ask JB, "so, since Kane is playing, can we assume that there isn't much interest in him? I mean, you wouldn't risk injury on a valuable player in the 11th hour, right?"
-
Yeah, that would be that slight bit of disappointment that crept in when they won in overtime last game. Straight-up tank-based loser mentality. Trying to kick it, but when they are officially eliminated, it's easy to slip back. Trading expiring contracts at the deadline when your record isn't very good? G.M. S.O.P.

I've got to disagree, We've. The trade deadline is a very binary thing. If he's healthy, they get something that could potentially help the win when it actually matters (i.e., still in the hunt for the Cup) for years to come; if he's injured, they get nothing. Winning these two games, while nice for the fans in attendance can't (at this point) help accomplish any more than the win, itself. Besides, what's the real affect of sitting Kane vs. not? There's a very good chance that they lose both with him and also a small chance that they win both without him. Really, you're talking about cases where they would have won with him, but don't without him. Plus, there is actually a chance that we would lose with him and actually win without him. For the playoffs, that incremental (expected) net gain is worth a lot. But when you're already out of the playoffs ... I guess my decision would depend on what's on the table. If there's a couple of very solid offers that you're working on, then he sits. If all you've got is tire kicking or offers of a second and/or mediocre prospect, then he'd probably play.

Unfortunately, this is flawed logic. It only works when there's just one bidder. Karlsson is an extremely valuable asset with many, many interested teams. GMs won't stop outbidding each other because of Ottawa's situation. Competition, alone, will drive his final price up.

Four goals in his last seven games ...

Boy, that really [de-]escalated quickly. I mean that really got [back to reality] fast.

Fallin' for Dhalin? LOL'in for Dhalin?

I'm not sure what that means. He usually uses a disappointed-sounding "and they score," but he does describe it before and and after.

There are other pics (ex1, ex2) that together looked very similar (to me, anyway.) Side-by-side, the shapes of their faces are the same. Saw him is a (really dumb) movie and instantly thought that he looked like Sam.

Didn't think this was new thread worthy, but I came across a Sam Reinhart doppelganger: Actor, Tanner Kalina

I'd say that it makes him less valuable to a team that is rebuilding, as they would be looking for someone to help them going forward, rather than just a rental. However, to many teams looking just for a rental, it might make him more valuable than if he had years left. It all comes down to what the team wants the player for. The Rangers, as sellers, are not going to be looking for rentals. They will want what we want: picks, prospects and/or young players in the league. Kane is not really any of those.

Whoever first coined that cliché clearly didn't understand statistics. It basically says that your population parameters are what your sample statistics (estimates) say they are, which is simply not true (possible, yes, but almost never actually true.) I will grant you that the more games played, the less likely it is that you are substantially different than what your record says you are.

I remember thinking it was a clear tip in the review last night, but I just watched the highlights on YouTube and I think you might be right.

Went off Risto's blade, which drops that chance a bit ... still should have had it.

Especially when he threw for 505 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INTs with a passer rating of 115.4!

If I may interject a little logic on the "bump snub" after the goal ... Okposo made that play happen (Sam touched it, but the play was made by Kyle.) After O'Reilly scores, it looks like he's facing Jack, but from the opposite view, you see that he's actually looking down and fixing his helmet. He lifts his head and raises his eyes when he's close to Jack, but able to see Kyle skating over to him. So, he turns to fist bump the guy who setup the play. Maybe there's more two it, but it's not too dissimilar to a guy scoring with teammates around him, yet turning to give the guy on the other side of the ice, who set up his goal, the finger point "you!" -
As much as I dislike the Pats, people aren't watching the video around that pic very closely. There are Jaguar players in the area and when Flemming goes to congratulate White, the official quickly goes after him to stop him from seemingly going after a Jags player. Once he gets Flemming, a very large guy, to turn out of the way and sees that he's actually just congratulating a teammate, the official laughs about it (when the screen captured was taken.) As the video continues, you see him backing away from Flemming and White with his hands out toward them, saying "OK, OK." The official wasn't celebrating with them, he was laughing at himself for seeing something that wasn't actually happening.

Or not ... :flirt:

I was just about to say, "no, it's 4th, because there are only three lottery picks!" Completely forgot that there are 31 teams now.
