  1. No. He wore #18 in the 2000-01 season, but Gare's number was retired in 2005. Tim Connolly wore 18 for two years after Miro, then nobody did for a while. I believe that he wanted 18 (wore it in Edmonton), but Grosek wore it until 2000, so he went with 81. Then, Miro switched to 18 for the 2000-01 season. From what I've heard, he had a bad start to the season, so he switched back to 81. I actually want a game-worn 18 Satan jersey, since that is the rare one (he wore 81 for at least 7 seasons around it.) My Satan jersey is a white goat head "authentic" (the on ice version with the fight strap, etc) 81. It was my first jersey ... thought it was cool to have jersey that said SATAN (i.e., the devil, not Miro) on the back.
  2. That could be cool. Also, what happens if they have another situation like the one that put Ryan Vinz on the bench a few years ago; could they bring her over for the game? First female NHL player (in a regular season game anyway)?
  3. Crosby w/ Sheary (black box w/ 87): 66 shots for per 60, 56 shots against per 60 Crosby w/o Sheary (red box w/ 87): 71 shots for per 60, 52 shots against per 60
  4. I honestly had to look back to make sure it was only six! Sure felt like more.

  6. I'd be interested in seeing whether the winner of game 6 (won an elimination game to stay alive) impacts the probability of winning game 7. Though, I would likely control for home ice, as well.
  7. Haven't either of you actually watched football? 99% of players thank God (literally or symbolically) for every big play. Someone not doing so would be the exception, not the rule.
  8. A guy's "Old lady" usually means his wife/girlfriend.
  9. What if the only QB Gettleman would consider is Darnold? They see the Browns pick <not Darnold> and run to get their card in with his name on it.
  10. While I won't argue the last point, it's important to note that in best of seven series, they were leading in the third period of game 7. Yeah, they choked in that period, but they were definitely in this series until the end. Auston Matthews' performance, or lack thereof, is notable. However, if he learns from this and the Leafs pick up a couple of defenders this year, they will be tough next year.

  12. Yup, you only get a '+' if you have no more than the number of players that the opposition has (ES, SH). Likewise, you only get a '-' if you have no fewer players than the opposition has (ES, PP). In other words, you don't get rewarded ('+') if you are at an advantage and you don't get punished ('-') if you are at a disadvantage.
  13. How many times has a player had 5 points and still been a minus (Jack is -1)?
  14. Sounds about right for the first period. What do you think he'll do in the other two?
  15. How many times have we heard guys who were in the NHL for a handful of games before going back to junior, AHL, etc., say that the experience really changed their mindset? That's what this is (though, Casey's not going back to college.) It's a chance for Casey to see what the NHL game is really like before the offseason. The outcomes of these games don't matter, so he doesn't need to tear things up; seeing what he'll be working for is. He may very well go to Rochester next season, but he'll go with some knowledge and experience that he wouldn't have otherwise had. Plus, yeah, it probably was good from a marketing standpoint.
  16. For anyone who hasn't seen it, this is the video that Marty and Duffer were talking about: Pretty well done. Made me laugh out loud.
  17. Wasn't that in the WHA?
  18. Nigeria? I hear that have great banks. I'm waiting for my check from this great deal that I got ... just had to pay a small upfront fee ...
