  1. Kevin Adams: applauded when telling people there needs to be a sense of pride when you wear the Sabres jersey. Ryan Miller: mocked when trying to get players to not walk on the logo in the locker room.
  2. Statistically we should see an uptick. There are always random variations in any season, but coaches tend to get fired in a trough. Eventually the team reverts to the mean, so there’s a bit of fool’s gold as the team gets better, which they may have done regardless of the coaching change.
  3. Both time frames are shorter than the joke that was attempted to be made. 🤷🏻
  4. I’m just projecting my own thoughts on the situation, but if my boss was just fired and I was looking to do his job with a team that didn’t look right, I would provide a pressure valve release and let people come and speak freely about what they felt wasn’t working.
  5. Fair enough. He may have been too close to the situation, but maybe there’s a reason he wasn’t fired with the others? Maybe he has always had his concerns but simply did what he was asked to do based upon his position?
  6. FWIW, I don’t believe “playing for a person“ is actually a thing. maybe you could summoned some sort of extra motion for a player to. Maybe even a game. But I don’t think for one minute they’re playing for anyone in particular is a sustainable mindset.
  7. This may be a stupid question, but was this really ever on his near-term career path? Wasn’t it just offered out of the blue?
  8. I get that. I go back to something I posted a few years ago, I think the word accountability means something different to everyone. I don’t know what it means, but it is used all the time. I do know people scream that they want accountability on this team, but when Jeff Skinner doesn’t score for umpteen games and gets demoted to a different line, they scream about the demotion and how clueless it was. 🤷🏻
  9. What about the idea that Granato could just sit in front of the players and listen to feedback regarding the way they were asked to play? I pointed out earlier that these guys have been playing hockey all their lives. They have watched hockey all their lives. They don’t need to be coached how to stay onside. I’m sure there are a lot of opinions and how they think their own game has been hampered the last 18 months.
  10. I think he was interviewed prior to Ralph being hired.
  11. A young new GM may want to measure twice and cut once? New coaches they want to know what type of roster they are working with and he may not know?
  12. I know what you are saying, but I don’t think an interim discounts anyone. I think they can just bring people in now without secret phone calls or fans tracking flight logs.
  13. Yellers succeed despite of the yelling, not because of it.
  14. Byron has been a solid 4th liner hasn’t he?

Lol. No offense, I didn’t read it. I saw something about confidence and just went to one of my favorite quotes. 🤷🏻

    Confidence

    I don’t know what is.
  17. It is why I’m reticent to declare people as incompetent for hiring someone who doesn’t work out.
  18. Maybe. I’ll change that if that’s the case.
  19. I think the over the top, resounding affirmation that the players loved Ralph (Risto said he was the best coach he ever played for) was probably a big factor in the delay of Ralph’s firing.
  20. Kevyn could/should be using these discussions with Jack to evaluate Jack.

  22. Both of us are just asking where this came from.
