I think the best angle on this is that JK did well running a small market team with real money constraints. As such, he likely understands how to "actually" run a small market team with competence. I don't worry about Pegula pitching in more money if he can turn the team around; he is still a hockey fan at heart and has shown a willingness to spend money at times (Dahlin, Power even Eichel and Skinner for that matter) It all comes down to how JK can keep Pegula in the loop while simultaneously running the team like an actual hockey executive person.

Well, I said it in other threads... so I'll say it here. Let me know when they are in the playoffs or a playoff position. I respect that it's a change, but this regime has made this change before with no improvement to show for it. The standard has to be held high. I have no ill will towards anyone, but I just need to see results before I will impart any value to this other than being just another change.

That's why my version of the story is way more natural. Anyone in the crowd who knew Jerry immediately gave Smell a high five.

Kevyn is a decent guy. Being tasked with giving an opinion of what others are doing in your organization and making recommendations is no different than the job consultants do all the time. It’s not like he eavesdropped on conversations and/or wore disguises to get people to talk to him. He was in over his head and made some unfortunate statements but I would disagree with the term “weasel.”

I think firing the GM helps with retention of older players. They can at least see that the organization has realized that what they have isn't good enough and that a change was necessary. It gives at least some appearance that the owner sees what's going on, cares, and believes that a new/different direction is needed. -
Adams went on the team road trip to scout it out (just like they've done with Jarmo as senior advisor this season), and while his first order of business as GM was to fire AHL coaches and scouts and lean down the costs for EEE, his main focus after hire were: youth movement, no blockers, and the current core of Eichel/Reinhart (the fruit of the tank) weren't worth building around as elite talent. Then, once Eichel said, "I don't like that idea, I'm already well into my contract..." the new mantra was players who "want to be here." But players want to win. Adams immediately put this franchise four years back in their progression. He was a phantom menace who staged a coup to gain his power which he was unqualified for -- and didn't get help either, because EEE. He made his own bed. He should never have been hired and he should have been canned 48 hours after he fired everybody because his task was complete.

Why would you say that? Who doesn't want to be forced to watch the Discover Card commercial with Stiffler's mom 17 times? -
On this particular issue he was right. You don’t need to be an expert to make a judgment on the GM issue.
