More like the powerless play.... They need to move more and cycle with their feet not just with passing from particular quadrants like immobile turrets in a tower defense game. Thompson should occasionally work his way behind the net while Dahlin flows into his spot and the middle guy, Tuch, covers the point. Then continue to move around drawing the attention of the PKers to Thompson moving about and other guys moving around flowing from place to place. Thompson is most deadly at his shot point but isn't inept otherwise, he still has a deadly shot from any spot in the offensive zone and demands attention by the PKers. If he were to work around the net while the puck cycles up top he may end up open in Norris's spot or given a space to work to the center for a snap shot. Meanwhile another guy may end up left alone in Thompson's usual area creating chaos amongst the PK. Right now I feel like I'm watching the old NHL games animated depictions of different Power Play Set Ups, very stiff and looped.

I felt kinda bad seeing Bettman like that, shaking. It reminded me of my father-in-law...who suffered from Parkinson's for several years before he passed away back in January. Anyway, Bettman understood fully what was being asked but what's he gonna say publicly, yeah Terry sucks as an NHL owner?!? I'm sure he's disappointed as we all are.

The Sabres have had the worst front office in the NHL since Pegula fired Regier, and quite possibly the worst in all of the major professional sports in North America Don't take my word, look that the record. Still, I would like to try to enjoy at least part of the season, and I would like to hope for a little while that they can do something. By December I should be ready to face another harsh reality and another lost season.

I am not in his boat but i understand where he's coming from. We all know people who have said what he said and left this organization in the dust. It's not just one game, you're missing the whole picture. It's 14-15 years of the same. They are a soulless organization, very poorly run, have no identity. Im sticking around, probably because im a sucker, because they are not turning it around with this team, these coaches and this front office. No chance. No way. Only way to think so is if you live under a rock. And im not saying this because of one game. I've said this all summer when they decided to keep Adams and the coaches.

I was looking forward to a series of Delta Force, Missing in Action, Octagon, and Invasion USA fodder this season. The highbrow Norris, if you will. But this feels more appropriate today

Would bet a bunch they will force their trades if this season goes bad. They both are millionaires many times over. They are playing for glory with their contracts. Pegula, Adams, Ruff, and Appert offer no path to glory, imo. The indifference and incompetence of these men has produced only a growing animus among the fan base the past couple years. Dahlin and Thompson will have to rally their teammates to do it themselves. I’m rooting for them.

Bettman, definitely has some Parkinson’s going on. Not sure I would call Terry a great owner. Take Allen off the Bills and they are towards the bottom of the league. The Sabres ever since he brought the team have been a dumpster fire and are unwatchable. Players don’t want to play here unless being overpaid.
