I think with all the players on IR, recalling UPL actually puts them at a full 23 man roster. That includes Zucker, who might be going to IR also, and Geertsen.

From Mid December until Mid March, I think the Sabres are on the road for 20 or more games, meaning he will be out of town for probably close to 40 of those 90 days. Then the team has a 19 day break in the middle of February, which I would think many/most of the players can take that on a vacation out of town, and he will spend less than 1/2 of the worst months of winter in Buffalo. It is a bit different when a guy buys a house in the area and their wife/girlfriend is here has 2 feet of snow in the driveway in January, while the players are on a west coast road trip.
