  1. Past hour
  2. KA lacks imagination and panics when plan A doesn't work out.
  3. Yes, Bennett did that. But he was allowed to by the dimwitted Leafs player that chose to leave him alone. At the very least Bennett would have been forced to the short side instead of being free to cross the crease. Epic blunder by the Leafs on that goal.
  4. When discussing trades, a number of options are explored before a deal is settled on. That's the nature of most trade transactions. You consider option A, B, C etc. Negotiating a deal isn't a quick and neat process. As you point out, there are a lot of factors and considerations that impinge on what you want to do. Most often, you settled for what you can get instead of what you want. That's the mix-bag nature of the GM position. It's unreasonable to judge a GM on any one particular deal because there are so many inhibiting factors that we are not aware of. The way to fairly judge a GM is his body of work over a period of time. On that longer time frame, KA is a dismal failure. His record is his record. The source of the failure is the owner who selected him to be the GM, and even worse kept him on way beyond the time it was evident that he wasn't up to the job.
  5. He needs to swallow his pride, fire Adams and bring in a Dudley and let him build his way. Enough is enough with this failure going on a decade and a half.
  6. I wonder if Ruff tossed the idea of an advisor to Adams out. Sounds Ruffian to me.
  7. What the owner appears to be doing in his retention of KA is his refusal to acknowledge the mistake he made with his peculiar GM hire. To put it mildly, it was an out of the box hire for this ill-equipped person. The owner's stubbornness is crippling this franchise. It makes no sense.
  8. No i mean... i don't think they make that trade with Mitts under contract.
  9. It’s him coming to the realization that he needs a seasoned NHL person but he doesn’t trust NHL people so he still needs his lap dog in place to communicate everything to him. That’s why there is this ass backwards setup where the senior advisor is supposed to report to Adams. Im just wondering if Adams “presentations” included bringing in a seasoned NHL exec to help him but still report to him so he had Terry’s ear.
  10. In fairness I think he has tried. Rumor was it he was after Pesce a few years ago (a very solid RHD) but they could not get a deal done. Seems to be too little and too late more often than not.
  11. As you point out, the Colorado GM made a player judgment and trade decision based on a roster construction and team need considerations. The trade decision wasn't simply based on an individual talent question as it was about rounding out a team i.e. making the team better. It seems whenever KA makes a personnel decision he doesn't look at from a broader perspective of how to make the team better. He sees pieces as individual entities instead of seeing how they fit together. He's a checkers player in a chess match.
  12. It's so hilarious to me that Pegula is so incapable of leadership, instead of firing the obviously over his head not good enough gm, he's gonna with the "let's hire a GM for our GM" approach. It's cowardice really.
  13. So true, every year when playoff hockey starts we are reminded of how exciting it is... intense physical and sometimes down right mean and nasty... then I listen to everyone wanting this team to make the playoffs... and think they would get swallowed up like guppies in playoff hockey... and the only ones not eaten would be the ones hiding under the bench... so much more is needed to be a competitive team in the post season... we are so devoid of that... its past how horrible Adams has gotten production and development from this group its also roster construction... Owen Power, Quinn, Peterka, Byram and Bryson would all look like Denis from Slapshot with PTSD in the locker room and anyone who actually resisted would end up looking like Dave "killer" Carlson... so much different required in this roster construction... with so many incompetents trying to do it... sorry, but I see this current roster as constructed maxing out at a 5 game first round playoff exit... IF the dream scenario played out next year... however realistically, not likely to even make them... but if we did we are likely gonna turn away from the beat down that will ensue...
  14. I compare Kevyn Adams to the Bills GM Doug Whaley. Whaley actually made some solid moves (mixed bag) and the Bills were not a complete embarrassment on the field. But ultimately he was judged for the EJ pick and Watkins trade up and not getting into the playoffs. Adams should have had the same fate for his lack of action and not making the playoffs, and we would be talking about someone like Ken Holland as our new GM now.
  15. Today
  16. So, this is just my opinion. This position is 100% needed. A NEW outside the organization face is needed. The current decision makers are all seeing the same thing and not what is actually needed to take this team to the next level. This is why i see Stahl as a good addition as he played the style of hockey that this current team needs to go to the next level. I am NOT a KA fan, but he has made some good trade decisions and acquisitions that has helped this team. Now they need to take that final couple of steps to hit that next level and he is stuck without the vision to get there. A great organization has multiple sets of eyes on the team and league to make their own team better. This team does not have that.
  17. I see it the opposite. The Avs GM got a piece they really needed at the time, but sacrificed a better piece that he had in a position of excess. Improve the roster and win right now was his goal. When the Avs GM saw that the guy he acquired was not up to par he easily moved him for a more proven veteran. Meanwhile the Sabres GM admitted he didn’t know how to use the player that he acquired because they have similar skilled players on big contracts at the same position. The Sabres GM never filled a real need, created a new hole, and failed to improve his team. At least he gets a shot at trading Byram to hopefully add a player we need but the trade made for a better player has not improved the team.
  18. Thompson gets destroyed and not 1 single Sabres player came to his aid, Anyone who even comes close to Barkov almost dies on the ice by everyone. That must be such a nice feeling, maybe 1 day we'll experience that. I felt from the very begining of the playoffs that if the Stars beat the Avalanche they'd win the Stanley Cup and I feel even better about that plus Oettinger looks much better than the Colorado series.
  19. Florida found their game again.
  20. Domi is a garbage player, never really lived up to his billing.
  21. Now that was the kind of game I expect to see Florida play.
  22. I'd like to see a game suspension for hits like that when the game is clearly over
  23. He may of just cost them the series, FLA will be looking for blood
  24. Domi ran Barkov. The Rat jumped in.
  25. He made a great move, stayed on forehand, read the play perfectly. 30 playoff goals in his career, already.
