  1. Past hour
  2. I see a hockey thread, no football one
  3. At this point I feel like we have talked about just about all there is to talk about. We won't know anything until these players start playing games together.
  4. This is fascism https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ice-deport-us-citizen-kids-stage-4-cancer-honduras-rcna224501
  5. I wasn't shocked that the team looked better with him out of the lineup, hows that 🙂
  6. Yes, it’s been renewed. See new thread.
  7. There likely will be.
  8. amazing that 9000 season ticket holders still exist; half of them probably forget they had them...
  9. I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say no one will really notice any meaningful changes to the broadcast. Ray will just be Ray, Dunleavy will still be himself and same old same old.
  10. Calling them "riots" is dishonest. Trump will call any protest he dislikes a "riot" and Fox News will scream "RIOT!" into the airwaves nonstop until Maga believes that LA is a post-apocalyptic hellscape. When a president starts using terms like "liberating" in reference to US cities, he's a fascist and a racist. We are sprinting towards full on dictatorship. You can't "liberate" a US city from the ppl who live there even if you dislike those ppl. To clarify, "you" in this case does not mean Hank
  11. That deserves to be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest. But in no way does that justify using the military and federal agents as municipal law enforcement. And anyone supporting it needs to understand why. History makes it crystal clear.
  12. Today
  13. with Ranch!!!!
  14. It's generally the case that the broadcasters are employees of the team. That's not just the NHL, it's most of the team sports in North America. I think the NFL is the exception for television broadcasts but they still employ the radio broadcast employees.
  15. I completely agree with you. One minor quibble - according to local NBC DC police is under internal investigation for altering their crime stats. I'm with you on Trump hammering blue states because he's petty. “When our members respond to the scene of a felony offense where there is a victim reporting that a felony occurred, inevitably there will be a lieutenant or a captain that will show up on that scene and direct those members to take a report for a lesser offense,” Fraternal Order of Police Chairman Gregg Pemberton said. “So, instead of taking a report for a shooting or a stabbing or a carjacking, they will order that officer to take a report for a theft or an injured person to the hospital or a felony assault, which is not the same type of classification.” The police department's command staff is focusing on two categories in order to get the numbers to fall, Pemberton said: armed with a dangerous weapon and injured person to the hospital. “When management officials are directing officers to take reports for felony assault, or if they're going back into police databases and changing offenses to felony assault, felony assault is not a category of crime that's listed on the department's daily crime stats,” Pemberton said. “It's also not something that's a requirement of the FBI's uniform crime reporting program. So, by changing criminal offenses from, for example, ADW bat or ADW gun to felony assault, that would avoid both the MPD and the FBI from reporting that as a part one or a felony offense.” https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/dc-police-commander-suspended-crime-statistics/3959566/
  16. Can Terry afford him?
  17. Here’s a list of 30 cities with at least 100k people with the highest number of crimes against people per 100,000. DC is nowhere on the list. Meanwhile, 18 of the 30 are in red states. Does anyone think our fascist in chief will deploy military and federal agents as municipal police forces in any of those cities? Not a phucking chance. Trump wants to punish blue states and blue states only, especially the low-income folks he railed against at that travesty of a presser on Monday when he announced his decision on DC. https://www.newsweek.com/most-dangerous-cities-trump-washington-dc-2112006
  18. Calling the riots "disinformation" is dishonest.
  19. People like to scream MAGA!!!! Trump has his base, but it's not big enough to swing the election. On November 5th did every swing state not have more registered democrats than Republicans? Enough of them either voted for Trump or didn't care enough to vote at all, that's the uncomfortable truth.
  20. Yesterday
  21. You're clearly triggered. I asked a few follow up questions on your position. That's all, there is no "gotcha" coming. I disagree on your take. I don't have big smoking gun though which you implied a few times.
  22. Good question, you should ask one.
  23. I feel like every team is going to hire the broadcast crew across all three leagues. Maybe not in the biggest of markets, but these broadcast exist specifically for the teams.
  24. Why are Republicans hell bent on fascism? I asked a simple question. Calling what was happening in LA "riots" is disinformation. Under that pretense, Trump can deploy the US Military anywhere on US soil for anything.
  25. By making them employees they can control the messaging so the organization and players don’t get criticized. It’s fortunate that there are still some local reporters like Hamilton and Harrington who are willing to give objective analysis.
  26. Protest? No. Riots? Only when local law enforcement refuses to. I'm guessing Trump's decision in LA was influenced by the democratic leadership in Portland allowing antifa to riot for, what was it, over three months straight? Does anything Trump does surprise you? Me neither. So why were democrats stupid enough to put him into office a second time?
