  3. TBH it just needs a good goalie, doesn't matter if they are a vet or not.
  4. I just don't think this guy is any better than Clifton but we shall see.
  5. Both of last year’s backups, sandstorm and Houser, are without contracts. I doubt Sandstrom returns, but Houser seems to resurface annually as the organizational number 5. The plan seems to be rotating the two young guys between starting in Jacksonville and backing up in Rochester. Their youth is a main reason why I’m pretty sure Levi is pencilled in for Rochester. UPL spent most of the year in the ECHL when he was their age and Ullmark didnt come over until he was 22. Can’t remember the last time the Amerks had a 20 or 21-year-old goalie playing regularly.
  6. That goalie list looks like it could really use a veteran.
  7. Yeah my brewing was early ‘90s and it cost me $40 to make just shy of 2 cases of IPA and about $7 to go to the brewery for a growler. I did miss the aroma and roasting the barley ( I’d snack on some of the barley out of the oven). I didn’t miss waiting for the wort to cool so I could pitch the yeast and obviously sterilizing bottles.
  8. No. Me, my wife and two boys live in Charlotte but we're visiting Buffalo. Having a great time. Her Dad has a spot on Snyder Beach and spent all day yesterday there for his 70th. My parents and siblings are in Cheektowaga and Alden, so spent today with them.

  10. With Canadian beer prices, a batch that costs $40 all-in would easily be $120 at the LCBO. With my time, obviously the per hour savings aren't great unless I'm also having fun making it... which for now I am. The biggest benefit is the ability to customize the beer. I'm not sure if I've ever seen a cherry wheat on this side of the border. Now that I can make my own, I can make as much as I want if I like it. To your point about washing bottles I hear you! A keg would be really nice! 🫣
  11. It’s interesting that 3 key veteran forwards from last year remain unsigned: Rousek, Murray and the captain Jobst. Rousek has gone back to Europe and Meyer looks like his obvious replacement. Geertsen and Leschyshyn aren’t direct parallels, but they may slide into the roster spots of the other two. Neither Jobst, nor Murray have signed anywhere that I’ve seen. I wonder if they could still re-sign, or if the idea is to lean on Helenius and Wahlberg more in their roles.
  12. By “next year”, do you mean 10 weeks from now?

What the current Sabres have to show for the past 12 years of their own first-round picks: Kulich, Levi, Tuch, Krebs, Östlund, Greenway, Byram, Dahlin, Norris, Quinn, Power, McLeod, Benson, Malenstyn, Helenius, Mrtka and a 2026 4th-rounder. What they have to show from the rest of the draft over those 12 years: Timmins, Kozak, Kesselring, Doan, Bryson, Luukkonen, Samuelsson, various prospects What they have to show from various signings and trades not directly involving those 12 years if picks: Lyon, Danforth, Jones, Zucker, Thompson, Johnson

  16. Keep him and trade away Luukkonnen. Or head into camp with 4 goalies, knowing Levi can be sent down. And trade whichever guy ends up the #3 at that point for what you can get.

  18. https://www.abebooks.com/9780060531058/Complete-Joy-Home-Brewing-Papazian-0060531053/plp This book got me started in home brewing. There was a recipe in the advanced section - something to the effect of “Indialalia Pale Ale that was my go to for every other batch. Went to a brew fest and found a local brewery making the exact same recipe. That was it for me, no more sterilizing garbage cans full of empty bottles.

  20. And here he is probably staring a PTO in the face. It doesn’t look like last season did much for him around the league. It can’t be hard for anyone to work in a guy like that on another million dollar deal.
  21. Yesterday
  22. Just got some fresh cod and made proper double fried fish and chips using a British recipe, I'm hooked.
  23. Multiple ones are no longer in the organization and Jack Quinn looks like a huge bust. And you are correct: our prospect pool is crap because we haven't found ***** outside of the first two rounds since God knows when. Our drafting and development completely sucks which is why we are the biggest disaster of an organization in hockey history with no end in sight.
  24. I'd do it, even though there's no way Oloffson does. He had a really good season last year offensively and was one of the best ExG% on Vegas. No way he pulls those numbers unless he seriously fixed his defensive game. He may be a better PP player than JJP and would do well on our 3rd line or as a 2nd line fill-in.
