  1. Past hour
  2. Division rival, team we are capable of beating, team we lost too last time around, 2 game losing streak (OTL) after a 4-0... I am very interested to see which Sabres team shows up.... the one with their hair on fire and a$$ catching or the one we saw at the beginning and end of last game... have a chance to stop the skid here... or potentially prolong it for several games.... with a bit of a difficult schedule ahead... pivitol type of game here.
  3. Watch, Ellis and Lyon will start to falter right after Adams deals Levi for "not wanting to be a Sabre."
  4. time to slap these punks and put them back in their place.
  5. I only watch the WS...just seems like every at bat can be high drama and you never know when it's going to happen.
  6. I have this spot I drive daily where people coming from a side street have to turn right onto my road and then make an immediate left. Every damn day someone pulls out directly in front of me so that they can then stop for that left. There's no one behind me, just wait. But yeah, they have to get home 5 seconds earlier so it's worth risking the accident.
  7. Today
  8. I agree, he just signed a contract, play out this year see if he gets a break into the league if not move him... Bottom line... another poor Adams trade, what looks like poor development of the asset... or they have just misassessed him and he will go on to have a long productive NHL career like so many other ex Sabres... which one I have no idea... either way this whole Levi thing is a big disappointment.
  9. Correct. There is nothing carved in stone about the Sabres goaltending room in the future. There's a heirarchy right now and waiver rules that impact who can be moved up or down.
  10. Personally, try to give them the benefit of the doubt and when it's obvious they're going to be in way more of a hurry than this kid, try to wave them through the interesection. (And then get ticked when they DON'T end up driving like maniacs but rather driving right at or below the speed limit.) Why give them the benefit of the doubt? Because a long time ago in a place far away had to drive about an hout to get back home once and about 15 minutes into the trip started to have an allergic reaction. Started driving way too fast on a multilane highway to get to the hospital (had no idea where or even if there was one near where the reaction started but knew where one was 30 or so miles down the road) and had idiots that were upset seeing this car flying down the highway and they'd pull out in front to force weaving down that highway to get to the hospital. Reason for flying was twofold, getting to the hospital quicker, and hoping to get pulled over so a cop could get me there with his lights on and flying even faster. Never saw a cop that trip, but when finally got to the emergency room the person at the attendant's desk was quite blase until she looked up; after that she and the rest of the staff started moving much quicker. So, tend to try to believe they are having some sort of emergency situation they're dealing with, even though it's far more likely they're young and driving the way @Weave says he did when he was young or yours truly did back then too. It's not likely they are dealing with an emergency, but on that 2% of the time they are, maybe getting over and helping them pass ends up saving a life (besides my own).
  11. I'm giving stick taps to all the posters who brought the scheme-perspective to the Worthy/Coleman discussion. I've seen it posted to Twitter several times over the past couple years: "If there was one Bills drought player whom you could bring back in their prime to help this team, who would it be?" The answer seems like it has to be Eric Moulds. I'd love to see Cook get 20 touches/targets and a score on Sunday. I think he's the key to beating the Chiefs.
  12. Ellis is the shiny new car that people haven't noticed the paint chips and road tar on yet. Will he retain the luster as we see more of him and more importantly as other teams develop book on him? No data. Hopefully, because if he does, he either can step up when Lyon starts to falter or even better gives the Sabres one more valuable goaltender to keep or use to bolster another deficiiency. But, though he's ahead of Levi on the depth chart now due to contract statuses, there is no guarantee at all he'll still be ahead of Levi on the depth chart when camp opens again (or possibly even sooner).
  13. Let's stomp these effin' beantown bums. Good start, strong finish. 4-2 win with an EN. Let's Go Buffalo!
  14. What exactly is so unbearable for Levi within the Sabres organization? That he wasn't handed the starters job? That he doesn't want to be associated with a franchise in a long playoff drought? I'm trying to wrap my head around your argument. The Amerks have been a top team in the AHL for all the years Levi had played there, so he can't be "sick of the losing" as he's a big reason why they are a .700 team.
  15. Yup. The kid played one game. He has a long way to go.
  16. Great opportunity for the boys to steal a win on the road against a division rival. Bs are scuffling. Crowd should be loud/festive. Get the first goal, and fans could get ornery.
  17. He likely believes that he will have a better chance to do so somewhere else. As you are well aware, there is nothing unusual about Sabre players desiring to be liberated from this middling organization. Just think, Levi was the centerpiece return on the Reinhart deal. KA is masterful at out -hustling himself. His managing motto is: one step forward then two steps back.
  18. The 'rule of law' thing, especially when driving, is somewhat irritating. A week ago I was on the New York state thruway heading eastbound while driving to Albany and came to a construction site. It was early in the morning so there was not anyone working yet, but the road was narrower, barriers were up and the speed limit lowered to 55 in the work site. I was in the right lane slowing down to 55. I was probably still going 60 at the time when 3 people passed me on the left. 2 pickup trucks followed by an SUV. I would estimate they were all going well over 80 mph entering that work zone. As someone above mentioned it is not just about the speeding. It is that people simply will do what they want, when they want. Rules, laws, the rights or safety of others be damned.
  19. I really don’t think it is more common than it used to be, and if I am being honest with myself, I was one of those menaces through much of my 20s. I spent most of the last 25 yrs commuting 45 min+ on rural roads. I saw what you described frequently. Multiple times Ive had to take evasive action with all 4 wheels on a soft shoulder to avoid a head on collision on a 2 lane 55mph road because someone in too much of a hurry decided to make a pass near a curve, or on a hill. And in my dumber days Ive been the cause of someone else taking evasive action. Not proud of it, but I was that guy sometimes too. We are all guilty at times of being in our own world, concerned only with what’s directly in front of us. Late for work, or rushing to a commitment, or responding to something in our personal life. And sometimes we are just over aggressive *****. Thankfully the vast majority of us grow out of it, or just plain stop being in a big damn hurry.
  20. Cheap resale tickets and the chance to eat a slice at Ernesto's? I'm there.
