  1. Past hour
  2. I really hope Adams doesn’t take a weak offer just to trade him. If the offers are bad, then simply keep him until someone offers the right deal
  3. I would be fine if they extended him and just stapled him to Dahlin. After yesterday, we would have our top-4 potentially nailed down for several years.
  4. Makes sense. Probably miffed about being rejected on Peterka, if there is some team overlap. He'll get dealt for some sort of forward and a pick is my guess.
  5. Friedman mentioned the Sabres feel the market for Byram is a little soft.
  6. Today
  7. Maybe Power is the problem.
  8. Chris Pronger approves of this sarcasm.
  9. Not a hard yes from me. But it addressed one of the biggest needs we have all been screaming for. A solid RHD - I hope for power and not Dahlin though. Still more work to do. And I would’ve liked to have seen the firsts flip.
  10. I have no idea if Adams is done or not but I fear the end result. I am concerned with the loss of offensive production. We are forever going back and forth and not progressing. As I said, if we gave up any number of prospects I'd love these additions but what we gave up creates an even bigger hole. Right now we still look like a farm team for the rest of the league.
  11. Im back in the lower 48. Had a great trip to Alaska. I see Peterka got his wish. Even a 23 year old RFA just has to say the magic words. That part of this bothers me. A 23 year old goal scorer should have got us more IMO but I always liked the way Kesserling plays. Big guy, solid defender, pretty tough, cheap contract for another year. Fills a hole big hole on RHD, but now we have 27 goals to recover. If Doan can play even close to his Daddy’s level someday then the trade is good, but that’s asking a lot. Hope he is more than a 4th liner. Oh, and JJP will just love the night life in Salt Lake.
  12. Tell him hello back.
  13. I think Peterka is a really good player, but alas, I’m in the Adams camp on this one. I’m not concerned about the loss of offensive production, I need affordable immediate D help in the top 4, more determination in the bottom 6 and a consistently really good netminder. peterka was a casualty of that I suspect. And I agree with the decision to move him, specifically because Adams isn’t remotely done. It’s long past due to make it happen, I’m intrigued, as others have said.
  14. As others have said here, if you keep getting rid of players that don’t want to be on the team, it’ll be a revolving door and what do you have left?
  15. I’ve reviewed the video of that play. I did see Samuelson move into the post hit gathering and give someone a push. That’s more than you’d likely get out of Power. Nobody else on the ice did anything.
  16. The defunct Rossi trade from the Wild perspective. They're not national guys, they know the Wild but know nothing really in any detail about Sabres. Though they do call Buffalo a hockey hellhole, which is funny because it's true. The first bit is about Rossi/Peterka. But then they're looking for a center. Tavares, and then they float -- could you trade Rossi ++ for TNT. No. No you couldn't. And TNT isn't a center anyway. And that's where I can stop listening.
  17. That would be why they traded for him and his contract extension.
  18. Denis Potvin says hello:)
  19. I'm a big believer in character and chemistry and the Panthers are an excellent illustration of how that works. Reinhart wouldn't be the player he is today on Buffalo. The Rat King just fit into that environment like he went home. JJP wasn't a fit here. Okay. There are others still here who don't fit, either. These two new guys seem like good kids, and they've had to work and be patient in earning their opportunities. The value of that is always immeasurable but evident if, or once, the pieces fall into place. If they work out then people will proclaim that Adams finally figured it out and, while we all suffered while he learned on the job, they are happy with the results.
  20. I'm not undervaluing him. I think he's a good addition. But I do think people here are undervaluing Peterka who imo has not hit his ceiling yet. Utah's top 6 with him added looks really good.
  21. If they spend to the cap at least I know they're trying and will give the slightest of hope.
  22. You're exactly right. He's 22 years old and shouldn't need any help at the NHL level. I mean if he was the 4th pick, yes, but #1 overall picks shouldn't need any time or help from teammates. Everyone knows defenseman take the shortest time to develop especially when they're 6'6". There's never been an example in all of sports, let alone the NHL, that taller kids need even more time. It's absolutely lunacy.
  23. Efficient economical, & excrement.
  24. Wow. Having the next deal in place more than a full year ahead of the due date. Did NOT see that one coming.
  25. I do not get the persistent panting over Rossi here. Scoring is not an issue and there is no doubt the up-and-comers on the team will fill the scoring gap the Sabres lost by trading a one-and-half-dimensional Peterka. We needed a top 4 RHD. We still need "character" guys with talent and enough discipline that they're not f%^king off when they should be focused on winning. Did we not watch the playoffs this year? Who on the Sabres would be a fit on Florida's roster?
  26. Nike ballcap, Yankees.
