If Josh stays healthy, the cozens trade is gonna look so good. He’s a way better player than Dylan. If. -
I am not sure when he comes back but thought that he wasn’t too far off.

Sabres hiring Jarkko Ruuttu for hockey ops job

Personal coach for Helenius? He could help the kid out. -
With UPL not even skating yet (i haven't seen he has anywhere, maybe I'm wrong?) you have to think it will be Georgiev getting the starts and Lyon backing up. Levi goes to Roch to play his ass off and work to steal a job. Then when UPL comes back id assume whoever is playing the best between Georgiev and Lyon stays

The Toronto sports media has been wrong about the Leafs for 58 consecutive years, they definitely have it right this time.

I saw the post and thought it was an announcement about Jarmo being promoted to some new, bigger position. I need to increase my Finn-fluency. -
Maybe having 4 goalies that are capable of playing NHL hockey adds a layer of accountability. If you aren’t cutting it, you get cut. Training camp and the pre season are not enough to hitch your wagon to one guy but a short leash with possible “good” alternatives helps the team. Negotiating a 4 headed monster with waivers will be a challenge, with Levi being the only exempt guy. The problem with these 4 is there is no history of them being the guy for more than just short stretches. Georgiev had one good year while UPL has had one mostly good year. Lyon has been a career backup with some good runs while Levi has been the man at the lower levels.

Great hire for the team! Yes likely to offset Adam Mair but Jarkko is a great hockey guy. He was an absolute rat to play against! -

This would hit after a goal.

As you are indicating, other than the few top tier goalies, it is such a tough position to judge players. One year a goalie will seem to emerge only to plummet the next year. It’s a crazy psychological position to gage. A good way to work around that unpredictability is to have a good defense and two-way and responsible play from the rest of roster.

I disagree. For all intents and purposes ABC did tell the government to stick it with the reinstatement in and of itself. And Kimmel’s monologue further underscored the victory for free speech. What he said last night was far more insulting to Trump and MAGA and so far, no new threats to revoke licenses by the administration. But ultimately, there are no “winners” when it comes to 1st Amendment violations. That said and as you alluded to previously, I think money played a prominent role in Disney’s decision. Apparently, they were swamped with complaints and subscription cancellation requests by their customers.

Not arguing your point, but Georgiev posted an excellent 2.51 and .919 3 seasons ago, and a "better than the others" 3.02 and .898 2 seasons ago. He was god-awful last year.
-
Jarmo guy. No job title yet, but he was a development guy in Columbus. Maybe picking up some of Mair's duties? https://www.hs.fi/urheilu/art-2000011515504.html

As bad as UPL was last year, these other guys are stiffs. Georgiev hasn’t had a save percentage above .900 or a GAA of lower than 3 in the last three seasons. He’s cooked. I guess he was signed so Levi can go to ROC? Alex Lyon at age 32 has started less NHL games than 26 year old UPL in their careers. Their career stats are on par with each other. They’re the same guy except UPL has handled a starter’s workload before and can still improve with experience. It’s a bad situation and Zucker’s hope is a ***** strategy applies here.

The suspension is. The reinstatement is what I am questioning. Clearly free speech was not what resulted in him being reinstated. So it's not really a win. The win for free speech would be ABC telling the government to stick it.

Antifa: Domestic terrorist organization
LTS replied to Hank's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
Your initial post was about Antifa being designated a domestic terrorist group and what's the point. This establishes the purview of the thread. Your later post asked a question "what's the long term goal?" The next post did not quote your post where your question about long term goals was posited. Instead it was commentary on the initial post you made. What is the point of labeling them? It's not like similar groups on the right have been labeled. It is hypocrisy. It was being called out. You assumed it was in reference to your question about long term goal. This would be on you, no one else. And there we have it. Then you proceed to take a nice passive aggressive swing at people, which isn't needed. You are engaging in the same behavior of "whataboutisms" and then talking about things unrelated to YOUR initial post. This thread is immediately derailed and I am locking it. -
No reason to start UPL based on his disgraceful results from last year. He will need to show why they should start him over one of the other options at this point. I still believe that UPL is most focused and at his best when having to battle for his job and quickly loses focus and attention to detail when he has no "competition" for his job.

I sometimes wonder if propaganda about the U.S. being 1930s Germany plays a part in someone’s decision to go on a shooting spree. Who knows.
