Bills get off the scheid. They looked ok, a 40 - 9 win is welcomed. Running the ball was easy today with Cook, but after that we have nothing in the backfield. Passing game looks mediocre still. I just do not like the WR group other than Shakir. Allen's feet and his reads are not up to par still, but I still point the WRs not getting open. I am not sure that Brady isn't get outmatched either. Defense was better with Hoecht in the lineup. Losing Oliver has become a theme for this team. The rookie CB made a play or two. The Panthers were supposed to be better than this. Next week is KC at home, this game was just a warm up. We will learn much more next week. Go Bills!

Now, in a year with playoffs as the focal point, the Sabres are conducting goalie tryouts during the regular season. Unfortunate circumstance and some of it is self-inflicted.

I just don't see the issue. You just waive UPL. I mean you call every GM and ask but after they say no thanks to any trade you waive him. Sure it's a ridiculous contract for an AHL goalie but you did that and you live with it. Don't care what happens to Georgiev. There's been goalies with bigger contracts waived before by teams. It's not a radically new thing for a goalie to show promise and then lose it. Some get it back, some never do.

It’s an optimistic way to look at it. The issue now is how is Luukkonen going to regain his form (as an .880 goalie) by splitting time with two other goalies. That’s the crux of the issue. If you’re going to get him his rehab, it’s in Rochester. Meanwhile, Ellis doesn’t get to build his game. And Lyon… gets rested, which is good, but we the expense of points in the standings.

I like Lyon, Ellis and Levi. If Adams doesn’t seize the moment and trade UPL in a package to bring in some forward meat, he’s a fool, again imho.
