It is worth noting that Levi isn't accounted for on his list.. based on the age criterion. He misses out on being considered by 1 year. Regardless, I don't remember pronman being high on Levi anyways

I was thinking about how balanced the Eastern Conference has become in the last year or two. In the 4 years since the covid season The top teams have become less dominant and less teams are getting more than 100 points in a season. Also the highest point scoring team has declined. 24-25 3 teams had more than 100 points. Washington 111 23-24 5 teams had more than 100 points. NYR 114 22-23 5 teams had more than 100 points. BOS 135 21-22 8 teams had more than 100 points. Florida 122 There is a lot more balance in the East right now. I would be surprised to see a team get a 120 points. The key as always is to win your divisional games.

Name one owner who would have interviewed KA let alone hired him to be their GM? Name one owner who would have retained their GM with the record he had after 5+ years? Name another owner who would have had such a patently charade hiring search for the critical HC position? What’s evident is that this is an owner driven failed franchise. The record speaks for itself. KA being retained due to the owner not willing to eat a contract in a business where it is a normal part of the business demonstrates why the Sabres are not a normal and competitive franchise. Depends on whether they plan on actually playing him barring major injury issues at the S slot or if they plan on using him like they did with Hyde last year. Hyde never saw the field in any real way but was there as essentially another coach helping the young & new guys learn the system. He's going to the PS. If that's where he stays, am cool with it. They get 16-17 guys on the PS nowadays (getting the 17th PS guy depends on whether they have an international player or not) plus 53 on the active roster. Really don't have a problem with Coach Poyer using one of those 69 slots. Would have a problem with him starting week 3. Though him breaking Cheetah's wrist might be poetic/karmic justice.

Crossings have obviously decreased but it's still routine line of questioning. If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about.

Yep, don't lie. One or two extra questions to see if you are being deceptive or not is all it's about. They feel that you are not being truthful, then it escalates. The days of doing a fly-by at the border are over.

Plan is a take it slow day. Going to take Rt 20A until the 390, then veer south to Dansville. From there we'll head to Naples and putter around there for a bit. Then drive through the Bristol hills along Rt 21 into Canandaigua. I love the views along there. We'll stop at any of the farms, wineries, breweries, and antique shops that capture our interest along the way. I booked a hotel in the Pittsford area and we may hang out in that area Saturday.

Both wild cards having more points that 3rd place in the met would really be something.

@sabremike is the context. I look at the Sabres center spine vs the rest of the division. I think 92 is possible, however unlikely. They might find an opponent’s weakness and exploit it.

Canadian here. I know a LOT of Canadians who aren't crossing over and say they won't until Trump is out... even if the trade situation improves. Rightly or wrongly, the media here is very anti-Trump and they've done their best to paint the worst picture possible. I'm not a black or white person, and I still actively cross... though bad exchange and US inflation has reduced the frequency (I'm going to the Finger Lakes on Friday). I suspect part of the 37% are people like me. I think the border has actually gotten friendlier since the tension started. The US border guards are better than the Canadian ones! Maybe they had customer service lessons with all the poor media attention.

The coaches are the same. Are the players better able to execute? Will it matter if it’s Wilford? Or if Luukkonen can’t replicate his good half season? Joker was coachable. He got into Quenneville’s lineup as a rookie kid. He did just fine in Boston. He did what he was told. Which comes back to the question, is the Sabres coaching staff any good? Can the staff improve itself?
