He says he worked a lot on his skating this offseason because he saw the analytics and realized he was slower last year than he was his rookie season and thought that was unacceptable.

Sabres to place Alexandar Georgiev on waivers today

He gone need one in Amerks colors, possibly Jacksonville as well. -
Doan, may possibly have what this team has lacked for two decades. Unfortunately, I doubt he alone is enough to make a difference. Kesselring will be nice if/when he plays. Still think the team needs more of a heart transplant. A few passengers that need to be weeded out.

Don't overthink it. Sports are supposed to be fun.

Winnipeg paid him because they knew if they didn't they were losing him in a bidding war on July 1st. The cap paradigm is completely changing.

Blümel was put on waivers by Boston, Buffalo should have also claimed him. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/272376/matej-blumel

Can someone telling me why I’m looking forward to this when I shouldn’t be? I’ve been training myself all summer to be pessimistic and disappointed. It’s not working.
-
Friedman’s 32 Thoughts today mentions that Roy and Pominville thought Erhoff and Leino contracts messed up the Sabres room.

It's a Masochist reunion

Also, as the pool of top UFA's shrink (supply) so does the teams with the will, or money to sign them (Demand). If Connor chose not to sign in Winnipeg, sure there would be more supply with him on the market, but the also would be more demand (Winnipeg now looking elsehwere to fill that hole.) Every free agent signed, even with their own team, impacts both supply and demand at the same time in a salary cap league.

They are not a very deep team. They have one good defensive pair. The third and 4th lines don't inspire confidence. The goalie can only do so much. I think it will be another long year for them.
-
Don’t know how to feel about this. My gut tells me it’s a solid move, here’s to hoping it doesn’t end up splattering all over the bowl.
-
As is tradition, I’m here expecting the best. Better defensive pairs and more mature forwards = the loss of Peterka’s goal scoring. The Sabres haven’t had a hard time scoring goals. I’m here in the hopium den expecting Tage/Norris production to light it up and pushing Tuch to RW2 as a driver to a second productive line on a playoff team.

PerreaultForever started following Home opener almost sold out

This explains it. That is a smart move for them.
-
They’ll straighten it out against the Sabres.
-
Rags looked like they either don't grasp Sullivan's system yet or want no part of it. All the experts predicting their resurgence might have it wrong. Too early to say obviously but they looked bad.
-
Yes. We already know Dahls & Bo are great as a pair. Assuming health, Kess & Power are a huge upgrade over Muel on the same pair. Timmons is an upgrade over Clifton and whomever. He did say that this may not be enough to cover for shoddy goaltending. But it’s a much better template than they were working with last year. Hope is a ***** strategy, but this is the path toward improvement. As Travis said, getting league average goaltending with this defense core = hopium.

There's a flaw in your logic. As the pool of UFAs hitting the market shrinks, the cap space available on the market also shrinks. There's a unique offset this offseason. If Tuch signs with Buffalo b4 July 1, he can sign for 8yrs, however if he goes to UFA to sign elsewhere, he can only sign for 6.
-
People really don't seem to understand how markets work or the concept of supply and demand: Pool of top UFA's hitting market shrinks = Cost for Tuch goes up. It does absolutely no such thing.
