Why can't Paul Hamilton say the name Helenius?
Weave replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
I’m curious how many trashing Hamilton for a likely honest error in pronunciation found Don Cherry’s act of doing it purposefully, and out of disrespect humorous? -
Kesselring and UPL are week to week with their injuries

It's a tough call. I don't like when players are rushed back too soon from injury and it lingers, and maybe never fully heals during the season. On the other hand, this Sabres team will struggle to succeed without their supposed #1 goalie and 3 or 4 of their top 6 defensemen and this team absolutely cannot afford a poor start to the season. They're just not good enough to dig themselves out of a hole. It's too early to judge whether all of these injuries are a) freak, largely unpreventable occurrences that have all, by chance, happened around the same time; b) the team being extra-cautious and not rushing guys back that are dinged up but able to play; or c) a failure of the new strength and conditioning program. Let's hope it's a) or b) and not c). - Today

I'm only going on what's been said on this board - I don't listen to Hamilton and as such, I don't really have an opinion on him one way or another and I have not personally heard him mispronounce the player's name. My take is that if he mispronounced the name once or twice, that's fine, but he apparently does it repeatedly, which is very poor form for a member of the media. It irritates me when media members don't do their homework and mispronounce names and/or overlook or misstate important facts. Most of us have to be prepared to succeed at our jobs and we would like to see our media members prepare for theirs. Having a good handle on the people or events that they cover is part of a media person's job. But enough lecturing on a media member I don't follow. I'm much more concerned about the Sabres' defense and goaltending injuries.... -
I don't know if you're being deliberately obtuse or just ignorant. The proof is upthread. Read.

lol - i can't even remember what the context here was

Per the bold, you are 100% correct. It is literally against federal law to provide government healthcare OF ANY KIND to undocumented immigrants, INCLUDE CHILD PROGRAMS. And while I can believe that these lying sacks of GOP puke Congressmen DO know better, many are ignorant of the laws on the books just as many of their MAGA constituents are. Until these lying scumbags provide PROOF that illegals have been given these benefits, they have ZERO credibility. https://www.npr.org/2025/10/03/nx-s1-5560987/shutdown-undocumented-immigrants-medicaid-obamacare

That's fair. From my perspective, if we're looking for someone to play up into the role during the regular season due to injury, Krebs looked pretty good on Wednesday which admittedly surprised me. I'd like to see him play a second time in that role to see if it was just a fluke or not. I don't really see Quinn going to corners or creating space for Norris/TT in the same way. It's why I think Benson fits on the line well. Just a complimentary role.

Hope Kesselring’s injury does not linger into November. 🤞🏻 -
Vezina? Unlikely. But here are Ullmark’s career save percentages throwing out the high of that Vezina year: .913, .917, .935, .905, .915, .917, .917, .915, .905. Most of those numbers are with the Sabres defense in front of him, Housley, Krueger, and Granato teams… stellar defensive lineups. There might not be a more consistent above-average but-not-star goalie in the league. Ullmark would’ve been fine. With him as #1 starter, the Sabres would have had a positive goal differential last season. They’d have definitely ended the drought in 22-23.

as well as lack of physicality and being really easy to play against... -
Getting dinged with extra penalties is common with any bigger kid in minor hockey. If it was in his DNA he could easily regain some edge. He frustrates me so much with his lack of engagement with opponents. I repeat once again that he is built like Pronger, plays like Bryson, but I just want him to get 10% more physical. Baby steps, make the effort and gain some room and respect.

I wouldn't care if the illegal immigrants were from England or Sweden, my position would be the same. Your insistence on labeling anyone against tax payer funded Healthcare for illegal immigrants as racist is misguided.

For the Sabres it is... just sayin... actually its more of an operating model than a plan... I am feeling like this thread is going to age much better than I originally thought LOL.... 🙂

Mentioning Ullmark, I wonder what he would have become if he stayed instead of going to a very solid Bruins team... I am guessing he wouldnt win a Vezina...
