Agree completely. The players and the fans deserve better. Bettman is a Pegula fan. A competent NHL Commissioner would back channel Pegula to run Adams, Ruff, Appert, and the rest of the Sabres staff out of town to give the fan base hope.

Tanking for McKenna, sad thing is San Jose is ahead of their rebuild over the Sabres. Trading for Norris and taking on a higher contract for a player that can’t stay healthy is just pure stupidity. Not sold on giving Kekalainen a chance either at GM. His record with Columbus isn’t all that good either.

Tuch should be dealt no way he’s going to want to stick around now - yes this Norris injury is that significant. And KA should NOT BE MAKING ANY TRADES. He has until Halloween then it’s time to clean house. Which begs the question. Can you get the best candidates for a GM job at the start of a season - I’ll be realistic and say Thanksgiving? If the answer is “no” you really need to do this after the season - then that means if Tuch is traded it’s going to be by people not in charge long term. Oh wait. That would be Terry who’d probably make the trade anyway. My bad.

At least Granato's teams could score goals and lose 6-5. It was not boring to watch. Get ready to be bored to death with regular 3-1 losses. I am not looking for a playoff team anymore, just entertainment at this point until the overdue regime change.

I feel bad for Norris too. He isn't doing this on purpose and he has to be extremely frustrated. Do not expect a miracle trade either. Teams do not give up 1C/2C centers easily. I expect Terry will say the solution is in the room. Helenius will be called up at some point. They probably want to give him a few more games in the AHL first.

I feel bad for Norris. He was so enthused to have had a full offseason to workout rather than rehab. Season feels like another train wreck already.. Unless a miracle trade happens, we may be looking at Helenius or Whalberg sooner than would be ideal. But what does this organization have to lose. That could also hold true for Levi depending on future circumstances.

I like Norris the player but this is beyond ridiculous at this point. Sadly I have no faith in this organization until either Pegula is gone or he steps back and gets a serious succesfulNHL person to run the show.

Sure. But in a proper rebuild you support and build around the young star talent with veterans with some miles left that are also true leaders. You don't trade for troublemakers that teams are dumping. Inexperienced GMs like Murray and Boterill did many things wrong. Adams is proving to be even worse. If this season is like the last one there is no reason that we will see Adams or Ruff next season. They should be replaced, not moved up in the organization. Terry has to find a relevant, respected, and capable GM, open the wallet and get out of the way. Another poor season means blow it up and restart once again.

KA knew not to trade Cozens for futures. The problem is he didn’t get to the chapter in his “I want to be an NHL GM” class, where it warns against trading for broken players with huge cap hits.

Both Eichel and Reinhardt went to already veteran established rosters with their own star power. Buffalo did raise it to the ground for a rebuild, but those 2 were supposed to be the star power, sadly they weren’t enough. If we had drafted McDavid, I can’t say we’d of been any better, but it would have made a 20 yr re-union winter classic game interesting if Crosby was still on the Pens roster.

I’m fine with Cozens move, but it shouldn’t have been for someone so unreliable. We could be in line for McKenna.
