Devon Levi signed to a 2 year 812k contract extension
Archie Lee replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
The “Sabresy” thing about this, is that 2 years ago Levi was gifted the starting spot. At that time if you had told fans that his next contract would be 2x$812k, and that he would headed to a 3rd year in the AHL, most would have laughed. There is, almost always, a “Sabresy” angle. Don’t limit yourself to contract term or AAV in your search. -

For that matter, UPL is still on schedule. -
Seems to be the antithesis of what the Sabres have been trying to add to the forward group then.

The problem is signing an older player, even a very good one, with a bad contract to a team who hasn’t made the playoffs in forever is not a sustainable way of producing post-season success. I get why a perennial playoff would do this, because they wouldn’t be depending on this guy to make them a great team over the next 5 years. It would be about the next 1-2 years. We’re nearly up against the cap and not even in any postseason discussions. If they can get Calgary to retain salary, I’d do it solely to try to bring in a guy a winning attitude, never mind what he’d produce on the ice.

Rosie needs to learn that there are 2 sides to the red line.

This was a point of some pride for me when people around here would ask why I was a fan of the Sabres. They would win a lot of games, make the playoffs and go on a few deep runs, at some point in time they would break through. In the early 80’s they had the 3rd best all time winning percentage, behind Montreal and Philadelphia.

Talk About Dereliction Of Duty: EPA Off The Rails
K-9 replied to K-9's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
That doesn’t what? Not sure what you’re seeking to argue about here. The SCOTUS gave the EPA broad authority in that ruling and regardless, both the Clean Air Act and the Inflation Reduction Act that further defined CO2 as a pollutant were passed by Congress. But that is beside my point which is that this administration is scuttling the regulations designed to hold polluters responsible and giving them free rein to pollute. It’s a classic example of the fox being in charge of the hen house. Is car exhaust a pollutant? How about industrial runoff of chemicals into water systems? I don’t need an act of Congress to decide that for me. -

I want to see Levi have a good summer of training and come to camp to win a job, making the goalie position better than it has been in years. This contract is perfect for KA to run his “hopium” roster back, Levi can cook another year, getting a few looks during injury stints. -

Clearly I am concerned about that as well which is why I like this Maybe deal... he didnt go out an commit 2 or 3mm a season on a maybe... this buys us sometime to find out. SO to your point I think that is exactly what Adams is doing... and I will even give him credit for that.... not much else but for that.... it to me makes sense. -
You can’t say the current Sabres playoff drought would not be a thing pre-90’s. Comparing the current Sabres to teams in other eras is not easy to do. The ratio of losing teams to playoff teams was drastically different pre-90’s, but look at how ridiculous 14 years is. Look at what Pegula said, then look at the results. This is what we know about Pegula’s Sabres. He said and promised that winning Cups would be the reason for their existence. He said he would spend money - “drill another well”. What other owner said these outrageous things and then delivered the exact opposite? I can go on but you saw the quality of the FO and coaching that Terry brings in, and you know why. What other team has traded away so many good and great players with nothing to show for it? Terry bought a team with the 4th all time winning percentage that could not get over the hump. He made brash promises of greatness, and then destroyed the brand. This team could be gone long before the new 10 year Key Bank deal is finished. No team has had such consistently poor ownership.

Not good enough. You need more practice reps to shed your positive reputation. Repeat after me: They suck, they suck. Say this 500 times a day, steadily increasing the mantra to 1000 times a day. You will then earn your Aud Room ribbon.🙃 -
I will be stubbornly uncautious about my positive views of Quinn and Kulich for the upcoming season. I can’t honestly make that same judgment about UPL. As like you, I just don’t know???

how utterly bizarre for the Sporting News to refer to him as the Sam Reinhart trade return in the title. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/news/buffalo-sabres-devon-levi-ukko-pekka-luukkonen-sign-deal/ed8d1871031295536fba0fc1 -

So what does he need improvement on. I do remember Biron getting thrown into a game at 18 where he didnt react and move his glove until after the puck was in the net.
