  1. Past hour
  2. Probably would need a prospect on buffalo's side, and would require them dumping some money somehow.
  3. Buffalos forward group seem to be skilled offensively but lack any defensive awareness especially in our own end of the ice. Also our situational awareness is terrible. We still lack players who go in front of the net or that battle hard along the boards, still lack players who can throw their bodies around or drop the gloves when called for and it’s been this way all throughout Adams tenure.
  4. Toronto is going to match any offer so it would be a waste of time for an offer sheet even if we could do it. Tavares is going to go unless he wants to come back for 2 million or something. Marner may walk. They won't let go of Knies.
  5. Well at least we found out that Justin Bieber is in fact still alive, and Drake gambled away another million bucks.
  6. Agreed. I've said it before.... IMO their best course of action is to hire a veteran POHO who can set forth a strategic plan for the franchise. Identifying the young talent which fits in that plan and filing in with experienced veterans either via trade or free agency. I don't trust KA, Terry or anybody else in the current organization to come up with a strategy or execute on a plan. Their current plan of "We only want players who want to be here and nobody wants to be here because palm trees and taxes" is pure loser talk. While true to some degree, as a leader of the franchise, you can't come out and say that publicly. The message needs to be "Our goal is to win. Wether or not you really want to be here is irrelevant to us. We don't care about your feelings, we're in the business of winning. We're paying you as an employee to play the game up to our standard. Go whine about the taxes to somebody who cares."
  7. Sweet. No Sabres on the list.
  8. Kevyn sent our 2026 2nd round pick to Ottawa so it's out of the question.
  9. The McCabe thing was incredible as he was injured attempting an absolutely filthy hit that if landed probably would've caused the Devils player to be seriously injured.
  10. Why are people so weird with this stuff?
  11. I’m fine with the forward group as is. It’s not perfect, a few small changes might help, but I like the core of Benson, Tuch, TNT, Kulich, McLeod, Zucker, & JJP. With a healthy Norris so much better. This is not the area that kept this team from winning.
  12. The Sabres have lots of young* players, they should trade some lottery tickets for sure things. Not all of them but some.
  13. Your options here are *****. Designed to force an answer that gives you a win. They will be more successful if the identify which young talent to keep and which to trade. You're so wrong on all this and we have years is proof. What, if we trade Östlund and Samuelsson for a 29yr defender we're gonna lose in round 1 and won't be good for a decade? What a fake set of choices. We traded Savoie for McLeod, guess we're losing in round 1 instead of being good for a decade.
  14. Today
  15. This type of breakdown ignores the amount of time the players spent here. Depending on how many miles you put on the tires, of course the return is going to be less.
  16. Loyalty to Phoenix doesn’t really matter much at this point.
  17. Another one is Lehner acquired for a 1st, no return. The McNabb deal is a perennial favourite around here. I haven’t completely tracked the Kane deal trade tree, but I don’t think the Sabres have any assets left from that one. Botterill was a disaster at managing assets and Adams squandered a lot of what was left in the Bubble. Yes, the McCabe injury was a stroke of bad luck, and Botterill set him up for failure, but managing to turn Ullmark, McCabe and Montour into exactly nothing is a huge black mark against Adams that no one ever talks about.
  18. When was that? Did I miss something? B
  19. What’s a disgrace is that Toronto fans have the ability to fill up the arena because there are so many unsold seats and seats being sold by the hometown ticket holders. That in itself is a freaking disgrace that opposition fans are more willing to attend than hometown fans. You want to be mad about the situation? Focus your venom on the obtuse owner with the big boat who has crushed this franchise and fanbase with his foolishness. And it should be noted that his absurd ridiculousness has been going on for a generation.
  20. I would say that proves my point other than one or two instances.
  21. Will they be more successful over the next decade if they.... A - continue to develop their young talent and let them grow into complete players or B - trade away young talent for veterans who can get them into a wildcard spot in 2025-26
  22. Drury is an interesting trade target because I don't think he's particularly good.
  23. Hey, let's leave NY Giant fans out of this discussion. 😉
  24. This was interesting to look into: Cozens acquired for pick 7, flipped for Josh Norris Skinner acquired for basically a 2nd, no return Jokiharju acquired for Nylander, flipped for a 2026 4th Savoie acquired for pick 9, flipped for McLeod Mittelstadt acquired for pick 8, flipped for Byram Lyubushkin acquired for nothing, flipped for a 2025 4th Erik Johnson acquired for nothing, flipped for Simon-Pierre Brunet and Ryerson Leenders Colin Miller acquired for a 2nd and a 5th, no return Sam Reinhart acquired for 2nd overall pick, flipped for Kulich and Levi Jack Eichel acquired for 2nd overall pick, flipped for Tuch, Krebs, Östlund and Greenway Taylor Hall acquired for nothing, flipped for Bjork and Kisakov Brandon montour acquired for a 1st-rounder (Brayden Tracey) and Brendan Guhle, flipped for Stiven Sardarian Eric Staal acquired for Marcus Johansson, flipped for Riley Stillman and Viljami Marjala Jake McCabe acquired for a 2nd, no return Linus Ullmark acquired for a 6th, no return Connor Sheary acquired for a 4th (Mattias Marcelli) flipped for Dominik Kahun Pominville and Scandella acquired for Foligno and Ennis, flipped for Michael Frolik Ryan O’Rielly acquired for Grigorenko, Zadorov, Compher and Jeremy Roy, flipped effectively for Thompson, Johnson and Colin Miller The most notable thing to me here was the amount of assets frittered away by Botterill and during Adams first year. Eichel, Reinhart, Ullmark, O’Reilly, Montour, McCabe, Foligno, Hall, Johansson, and Miller are all playing in the NHL right now. In exchange the Sabres have Thompson, Tuch, Greenway, Krebs and Kulich.
  25. Oh, I observe, and luckily most times in the history of our head-to-heads, we Sabres fans end up getting the last laugh, and the Leafs fans end up heading back across the border as losers. That includes the last time they met in the playoffs. I was at that penultimate game and remember waving bye to all the blue and white jerseys as they filed out of the HSBC arena in shame. Even as I crossed back across the border, Channel 4 had their cameras in the Peace bridge lineup in front of the inspection booths. We got their attention and celebrated with everyone else staring at us in envy. The thing is that, when the Leafs win a game or two, their fans start planning the parade. It’s beyond obnoxious how entitled they are. After they eliminated Ottawa, I was seeing jersey and flags everywhere. It was nauseating. So it’s so great to see them have their annual playoff collapse and hear the Toronto media natter at each other. Steve Dangle is a great watch. If you’ve never seen his videos on YouTube, it’s highly entertaining. I want ongoing pain for that team and all their fans. He tells it like it is and is very satisfying to know most of their fans are losing their minds in a similar fashion. I would love nothing more than the Sabres to have some form of relevance again, but in the meantime, I need something in the NHL to celebrate. The Leafs have succeeded in becoming the perfect failure. They truly are the Laffs.
