  1. Past hour
  2. Good move for the Sabres and finally they've done something that makes sense. I like the signing and have zero issues with it, except for the fact that it doesn't improve the team. McLeod was already on the roster. Can they please sign someone who is a positive addition to the roster? Alex Lyon, assuming the deal is actually done, is a fine backup goaltender, but essentially just replaces Reimer, so not really much of a net add (no pun intended).
  3. You are probably spot on. Now everyone can wait for Adams much anticipated press conference telling us he had conversations with certain garbage players and their agents. Then he will tell everyone that he had talked with other GM’s but nothing was coming together for a Bryam trade. Why not try to resign him if no teams is offering anything that can help them now.
  4. PS i am not opposed to resigning Byrum unless Sabres can trade for a top 6 forward possibly plus 1st or high 2nd round draft pick.. depends on player coming back.
  5. Good move. McLeod is solid.
  6. True. But that said ... Won't keep this kid from railing against the policy. The policy is just SOOOOOOO misguided. (And personally still believe there's a good chance that Levi will become what they need. But that it will happen THIS year is merely hope. And, hope AIN'T a plan. They need to widen the margin for error and this move BARELY moves the needle in the right direction on that metric. It DOES move the needle the right way, but so trivially, it almost doesn't even count.)
  7. Our seasoned vets are only 25 years old.
  8. Blue sky thinking/the only sane course of action given our relative circumstance thinking..whichever The Sabres operate along the fringes of their roster as if they are a team comfortably in range of their goal, rather than one desperately attempting to achieve the goal for the first time in a decade and a half wherein failure is unacceptable. B/c they’ve proven failure is acceptable. They are not accountable The truth is that, they only need to be accountable to the fans if they want to be.
  9. Poor bastard! He had a chance to escape
  10. See if Helenius is ready... and try out Östlund too get some of the young guys up for more tryout time... maybe not at the same time but who knows.
  11. I wonder if he’s a good whistler?
  12. I have gone to tons of Silver Knights game and trust me this guy will never be in the NHL. He will drop the gloves but he’s nothing more then an AHL player!
  13. Florida will re-acquire Lyon at the trade deadline from Buffalo and he will win some big games for them on way to the cup. The Sabres will get a 4th rounder to help their next rebuild.
  14. I’m going back to the idea that a Rust for futures deal is still available and that Rust is also a dawg, but one that can score 25 goals. Add him to that top six and you might be on the verge of an identity up front. Benson and Krebs have that edge and you’re halfway there in terms of numbers. Zucker has some of that. Greenway and Malenstyn can pound, Tuch and Tage are massive men who are ready for a pack behind them. Maybe they can be effective in the way last year’s mix wasnt. Maybe showing up for 70 games instead of 55 gives them the 10 points they need? Of course I know this is peak off-season blue sky thinking. Bear with me, this is always a tough day.
  15. Now we will see who the real McLeod is.
  16. Yes, Geertsen isn’t making any NHL squad. He didn’t even play every game and is an AHL player and nothing more! Ehlers isn’t enough for Carolina to beat Carolina.
  17. Don't think Ehlers would make a difference. Barring a season of unexpected major injuries (which can happen) I can't see anybody beating Florida as is.
  18. K’Andre cashing in with the Canes
  19. I like that they're buddies who are bringing an open mind and a willingness to hurt the other team.
  20. Well, now those ice shovels during breaks will make some sense.
  21. Thankfully we are 5th least in need of a playoff spot
  22. There is no way a true goalie upgrade is coming under this administration. Conversation of 3 years ago I’ve all but stopped joining in on. If Adams has proven one functional aspect of his roster construction it’s that. It will take a different person steering the ship to make re-attacking the position a priority. Their plan was Levi and it’s darts from now on - there’s no pivot coming
  23. It's looking more like they plan to just keep him for now. Market will re-materialize later when players get hurt.
  24. No I care about the ends not the means
  25. As time goes on, knowing how much Greenway gets hurt, only 34 gp last year...i'm liking his extension less and less.
