I don't think he's worse than Georgiev. I'm not convinced he is better than Ellis or Levi. I believe Lyon is better. So he's somewhere 2nd through 4th in my eyes. At what point do you do this though? If it's when UPL's conditioning stint ends, Ellis will have played one more game. That's not a large sample size to measure against and will be potentially complicated if UPL is playing well in the AHL. I would almost want UPL to get NHL games this season to see if he's going to perform or not.

More and more, I believe that youth sports in America have trended toward year-round specialization not for the benefit and advancement of the athletes, but rather for the benefit and support of the industrial complexes that youth sports have created (coaches, administrators, facilities, etc.). Is it more true or more false to say: If your kid is destined to be an elite [insert sport] player, then they would find their way to a top flight professional team without the assistance of the current youth sports industrial complex. Yet again on the other hand, it's also true that the major soccer clubs of England Europe (Man U, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and literally hundreds of others) have "academies" where kids join (after having been invited) and train year-round with their academy team (peers). I think that's been going on for some time (Messi left Argentina for Barcelona at age 13) -- and that's without the influence of the pay-to-play dynamic we see in U.S. youth sports. I've confused myself. Sounded imminent last time I read something on Twitter. Maybe even this weekend?

I'd want to see him play at least one or two more NHL games... Plus you have to realize the team is getting a good look at him in practice that we're not. If he plays well in another NHL game... And he looks good in practice and is fitting in... You have to seriously consider not putting him on waivers. Besides put him on waivers and what's the end game? If he doesn't get picked up? Send him to Rochester? Where he is just going to split time with Levi?

100%. Was just reading that if the Sabres waive him before having him on roster for 30 days, the Blues can claim him and send him directly to AHL. So makes sense for them to carry 3 (if necessary) till after that time

Tage appears to be pressing. As you well know, his goals usually come in spurts. Very often when you try to do too much, you end up doing less.

The Sabres-Habs game was on Prime and they did an interview with Tage before the game and he sounded like a zombie. No energy no emotion. Something must be up with him.

I would not put Ellis on waivers before we know UPL can play, stay healthy and make saves against NHL players. Rather the three headed monster until that.

No. It was part of a package. If either one of the two former Utah players were not part of the trade proposal, I don’t believe that the deal would have been made.
