  1. Past hour
  2. What do you mean by the bolded? Is he injured? Why is he not playing/dressing after a very good debut?
  3. Sounds good in theory, but you're on the road. The other team has the last change; you aren't getting better matchups with 3 minutes left than you're going to get in the last minute. And this team does a LOT of turning the puck over near the blue line, either entering the zone or having a D flub it under pressure. You give the other team way too many chances to end it when you pull the goalie with that much time left. Again, am sure that analytics say 'yes, pull the goalie with 3 minutes left because you're going to get x matchup and the XG/60 say you need about 3 mintues to have a high probability of scoring another goal' but those analytics don't take into consideration how likely Quinn, Thompson, Power, or Byram are at turning the puck over in that time nor how likely it is that turnover will result in a goal against because the turnover doesn't happen near the goal line but above the circles.
  4. Beyond dismayed by UPL. Then he gives that OT performance and 5 frame Shootout win. Followed by a weak outing with no goal support. Doubt Adams is ready to move him despite fan opinions.
  5. I still think Lindy makes dumb coaching decisions and doesn't have a grasp of his roster. Quinn playing awful and getting more ice time than Doan. Greenway on the 1st line. Splitting Tage and Tuch up and saddling him with 12 year Olds. Handling of goaltending. Pulling goalie with 3 min left of a 1 goal game, and trusting Power in that situation. Just not impressed
  6. I understand your point, but I don't quite think it's to that level. It wouldn't just involve the coaching by the head coach.. It would have to be the assistant coaches.. And more importantly it would have to be his influence on purging the roster of some players that aren't good enough.
  7. If someone else took his full salary I would take basically nothing in return. To me, getting that salary cap space back, and removing him as a third goaltender on the roster... Is much more valuable than mid-round draft pick or low to mid-level prospect.
  8. The new stadium was scheduled to be open for the first game next year. Technically not 100% complete, but close enough so they could use it. Now according to this, it looks like they're falling behind on their schedule. I'm going to assume they can still make opening day next year... But anything else that happens to make them fall farther behind.. could make things interesting. https://www.wgrz.com/article/sports/nfl/future-of-the-bills/buffalo-bills-stadium-construction-falls-behind-schedule/71-29251991-50e4-4e03-81c2-942aa06a90b5
  9. Lyon ISN'T a 1 or even a 1A. But he is a very solid backup that can step up and hold the fort while the 1 works through issues. He literally is the reason the Sabres missed the playoffs in '23. And right now, he is the best they've got. But they really need to get Ellis to a point where he can play another game. He isn't likely the answer either, but if he could take 2 of every 5 games; maybe Lyon can hold up long enough to get a significant portion of the injured guys back so they don't have to rely on top tier goaltending to stay in and win games.
  10. He can be traded, but I am sure they are trying to get more than future considerations or a 7th round pick in 2028 for him. Is he worth more than that? Not to me. UPL doesn't improve Buffalo or have the potential to improve Buffalo in the future. Having him on the roster is pointless. If the Sabres had a run on goalie injuries they could sign anyone or bring in anyone and I would have just as much confidence in them as I do UPL and frankly I think the outcome would be the same either way. He's Just Another Goalie.
  11. Zucker is sick, I'd guess something nasty like Flu or Covid Kulich has fluid in his ear Benson bruised or potentially broke his foot
  12. This road trip is looking brutal, even if the Sabres had all 5 forwards healthy and Dahlin in the lineup -- this was the first tough test of the season and will likely have the Sabres looking draftward. Carolina - L Utah is coming off a tough road trip (a pair of back-to-backs) looking to get their home crowd going - on 2 days of rest (Sabres will have 3 full days off). Next day, Colorado rested and coming off a destruction of Edmonton. (They might actually overlook the Sabres. Does Ruff sacrifice Ellis in this game?) Detroit who are still playing OK and hoping to stay in contention. Return home and get an Edmonton team that is reaching that breaking point they were at a couple seasons ago when their made Knoblauch the coach (and realized that McDavid and Draisaitl were still on the team). What's the over/under on goals scored by JJP, Olofsson, JBD, and Savoie against the Sabres in the next 4 games? Is 3.5 a good line?
  13. I thought Benson, Kulich, and Zucker all had minor injuries. Hard to believe not a single one is playing yet.
  14. Still didn’t answer the question.
  15. That’s his middle name…. Kevyn imboundtophuckthisup Adams.
  16. I didn't say it was a great trade design (and I specifically stated I'd rather it was an up-and-coming 1C). Just following the parameters of: The title of the thread is a trading Owen Power. The Sabres need a 1C. What teams would consider trading their 1C at this point in the season when everyone is still in contention? (Only tankers, teams with horrible starts, or a bad contract.)
  17. I think the level of incompetence is so high, that even an above average GM could help. I don’t think this team needs to be ripped down to the foundation. I think we are a few trades away from being competitive. I just don’t think KA will do it. Changes: 1) hire a good head coach = 5 more wins 2) Trade Power, dump Quinn and Greenway = 5 wins 3) add good (not even elite) players to replace them = 5 wins 4) move on from UPL = 5 wins
  18. COME ON BOYS!!!!! Dig a little deeper, I know you can win this, we’re almost there!!!!!
  19. Today
  20. If they had gutted the front office, hired new coaches, and been aggressive at the draft and ufa, they could have turned things around this summer.
  21. There's no helping this team now. Too many mistakes, failures, ***** ups, and incompetence. We're heading to rebuild 4 and only the best gm in the league could save us.
  22. Hoping=that at least one arrogant buffoon of a billionaire who is trashing a treasured institution decides at some point to go away.
  23. I thought you were being facetious and others did too, evident by emojis. I'm pretty sure you could have said that much earlier but you had to make sure to insult me before the reveal. You're not the virtuous person, you claim to be. I know, I know, you're just defending an honest question because you've never been a punk before, so how could anyone think that of father swamp. Just curious, why did you remove the word "so", out of the question in this post? Haha. You're boring and everyone knows what you did.
  24. The problem and the solution does’t originate with the HC. It’s starts with the GM who presides over the hockey operation. You can have an excellent coach while the GM has presented him with an imbalanced roster. Even with the best coaching the flaws are going to manifest itself. The Sabres have a third-rate owner who has assembled a third-rate organization. We’re stuck with a stubborn owner who doesn’t recognize his own limitations. Until a credible hockey person is installed at the top of the hockey operation, this franchise will continue to flail.
