There are a few teams who need a goalie right now. Get rid of UPL, keep Ellis (Leave the gun, take the cannoli). He could make a real splash by getting rid of one of either Byram or Power in the same move. The splash could be even larger by adding Quinn to the above package. Sweeten it all with one of the prospects. Bring back just two meaningful pieces. He doesn't need to get rid of Ruff right now, Ruff is good enough to get them into the playoffs. Except for the PP, which may very well be the fault of the players not executing, coaching isn't a concern until after the season.

My apologies, but we seem to be having some server issues. Something is periodically eating up all my memory. It is under investigation now. Thanks for understandIng.

I don't think these are the same thing. Advice to "just talk to him", implies that the person you're being advised to talk to is reasonable and if you approach them reasonably they will respond in kind. A truly skilled executive has options and knows better than to work for a person who is so insecure that they need to be made to believe that every decision was their own.

How could you tell? Isn't that just his normal face?

I don’t think Torts is the greatest coach in the world, but I think he brings what this team has desperately needed since Ron Rolston left. Young teams need guidance on how to compete in the NHL. That’s what you’ll get with Torts. And in three years when the team needs something else, he’ll be out the door like usual.

Finnish media are, of course, excited about Kekäläinen being back as a NHL GM, however there are also some worries. They stated that Kekäläinen has the same blind spot as the Sabres, none of them seem to get the right coaches. On the other hand, if there are problems with the culture in the organisation, he was considered the right guy to fix that.
