  1. Past hour
  2. Does winning matter? Have you seen what is going on in Detroit? Lions and Tigers - "oh my". I live in Michigan and usually it is all U of M talk, winning has changed all that.
  3. I used to search the internet in the mornings with a cup of joe and look for Sabre's rumors. Listen to Sabre's podcasts saying this might happen, this player will be traded, etc. After 5 years of KA-NADA, it doesn't happen anymore. So, when I am here, and see a spool of transactions, this trade that trade, I just shake my head. Nothing happens. After 5 years of KA, we should be skeptical (skeptical - hell, outright bull poop) of any "big" trade or acquisition. It is fun for hype and chin wagging. In reality, unless a grade A player publicly announces that he wants out of Buffalo or begs to play in Buffalo, then KA pulls the trigger. 5 years of pipe dreams. We will see if the additions of Stall and Jarmo make a difference and can change the stripes of the Zebra. I hope so. I need something to do when having a cup of early Joe.
  4. This team needs a legit center as we can’t count on Norris. Get pettersson.
  5. Today
  6. From what I gather from various reports he sees himself as first pair guy and wants a contract to suit. Doesn’t really compute with Dahlin and power already on big deals.
  7. Does Byram simply not want to be with the Sabres? Seems he is certainly worth re-signing? Is it that he won't sign any contract the Sabres put in front of him? Is this the same situation with JJ Peterka? If so, what possible future does this franchise have, if its best players don't want to be with the franchise at any price?
  8. I meant extending Marchment beyond this season coming up. He's only got 1 year left I think.
  9. Very incorrect - with Marchment salary the kraken have 18 million in SPACE now with only Kakko and Evans to sign. They may still buyout gru - that gets them to 22 million - ownership has major pressure on them to win so they’re trying to do something big. I would anticipate a top six overpaying in free agency or trade for a higher priced true top line player. also, the narrative here in Seattle has been buying out burky as he has not been healthy or good in 2 years. Nice guy having met him. But people here are thrilled with the fact, someone took him without any retention in fact, sort of shocked.
  10. Burakovsky to the Blackhawks might change the narrative of them drafting Martone to be Bedard's winger. JBot dumping money to pay Marchment I guess.
  11. Just as an aside it doesn't really matter to Pegula if they lose a little money each year as the value of NHL franchises keeps rising and they also have expansion fees on the horizon. He's making a killing if he ever does sell it.
  12. You think too highly of yourself. My jokes have nothing to do with you. I’m just having fun.
  13. The bouncyball draft is actually a couple days before the NHL and they still have one game left to play.
  14. Is NHL GM the toughest GM job of all the sports? You win (or lose) the Stanley cup and literally have to start thinking about resigning players, the draft and free agency immediately
  15. Yes please.
  16. On individual player scouting, on strategy, on evaluation, yeah, the team's management probably knows multiple times more than the average fan. But on what general direction the team should take? is it time to buy or sell near the deadline? is it a point in the offseason to rebuild or to go 'all in'. The start player who 30 years old, do you give him a long term deal or not? A lot of those things are 50-50 choices...coin flip things whether they work out one way or the other. The 'average fan' can think they know more than the team's management because a lot of time the 'average fan' has a 50 percent chance of making the 'right' long term decision while the management has 50% chance of making the wrong one.
  17. Exactly. The journey is supposed to be the best part and that particular film left a lot to be desired
  18. The answer is in the room😁
  19. But they found him in less than 2 hour runtime of the movie.
  20. I have a bad feeling that the answer is going to be Bernard-Docker....that's the best Mr. Incompetent GMKA can do.
  21. Can we afford (or want to pay) both him and UPL? They would make a pretty good 1-2 and it would allow Levi another year at least in Rochester where I think he needs to be.
  22. Power is still young for a defenseman. Ekblad, also a #1 pick, put up just 21 points and was a -23 in his third full season.
  23. The Bills were like that 2/3rds of the existence . LOL. I'm an old guy who was born into a Bills season ticket family. 1 win in 1968 and 1971. I sat through many seasons where winning a home game came as a shock.
  24. Yesterday
  25. Are the Sabres profitable? I really don't know. If they can be this bad for this long and still be profitable, what does that say about the management of the team? Do they have a huge incentive to win and make the playoffs? I understand that Terry Pegula has a lot on his plate with his wife's health, his daughters and their lives, the Bills, his other businesses, etc. I don't think he is a bad man. I just think he should hire the right people to run the Sabres so that he can focus elsewhere. And if he doesn't (he hasn't yet obviously), he needs to keep trying until he gets the right person(s).
  26. Completely disagree. you give 25 NHL mgmt teams / owners Dahlin, Eichel, Reinhart and Thompson (not to mention Ullmark) and they turn that into a legit contender for playoffs every year. At least 10, turn them into cup contenders.
  27. https://www.nhltraderumors.me/2025/06/nhl-trade-rumors-canucks-have-price-tag.html Quinn for Demko then send UPL somewhere else? I desperately want them to bring in a different starting goalie.
